If given the chance to be anyone in the past or present, I would deliberate and procrastinate making a decision, and then I would chose King Arthur.

The first reason I would like to be him is that he was a guy who stood out from the crowd. He was loved and respected by his friends and enemies. His people revered him because he treated the common man fairly and protected him. He was incredibly wise from many life experiences and his reputation allowed him to assemble an all-star cast of knights to defend his kingdom. Living accommodations of the highest order were his. Feasts were common on holidays or celebrations and anything you could want was at the table. All these things set him apart from your average man, and most kings, too.

The next reason for wanting to be King Arthur is his adventurous life. Magic fascinates me, even if it is a figment of the imagination, and it would have been wonderful to see things appear out of thin air. I would have been in awe of the Lady of the Lake, Excalibur, and especially Merlin. Having a best friend who is a mentor and can also perform magic would be the ultimate good time. Also, the many battles he fought and foes he vanquished would provide enough adventures and experiences for two lifetimes. He could probably walk into any room and know how to act just right to get his way. He also met a host of unique characters who also taught him new things - the Green Knight and Morgan LeFay among them.

I believe the biggest reason I’d like to be King Arthur is that even though he had it made he still continued to better himself and explore.
