The Odyssey

Odyssey

After the terrible incident with one-eyed beast, Polyphemus, my crew and I opened the Sack of Winds, and it blew us to a strange island. It actually wasn't an island, but a penninsula that was connected to mainland Greece and separated from it by a huge mountain range, but I didn't know that so I figured we were somewhere near Spain. After a few days of rummaging for food and setting up camp, one of my men encountered native man who had a circular disk on his head. The engraving on it looked like a circe with four evenly spaced line sticking from it and they looked to be spinning, because the woodworker must have been skilled. The native was brought to my tent and I was pleased to find he knew Greek. I asked him what his engraving meant and he said, "Come with me."

So I got four men and travelled deep into the forest and then our guide, whose name was Ron Tiko, stopped. We were in the middle of a clearing and I saw nothing. Then Ron pulled a vine from an overhanging branch. The ground opened up beneath us and we were sliding down a twisted tunnel for about half a minute. We landed on some pillows at the end of the tunnel in a room big enough to fit three warships across, three up, and five back. Occupting half the room was a craft that must have been able to fly, but it was made of so much metal it looked too heavy to fly. Out from the craft a regular man, who clearly wasn't a native by his dress, addressed us in Greek saying, "I am Tarlan from the galazy you call Andromeda. My people were brought there from Earth 3,000 tears ago by an alien race. I have been sent to form an alliance with Earth and to introduce or retrieve new technology from you."

I said, "Nice to meet you Tarlan. I would like to form an alliance with you and I would also like to get technology from you."

He said, "I have wine to celebrate our new alliance."

After a long celebration we all went to sleep, save for one of my men who was strangely affected by Tarlan's wine. He began sleep-walking, and, mistaking his sword for a cup of the wine, he stabbed it right next to Tarlan's head. Tarlan saw this as a murder attempt, and he ran to his spacecraft and began flying and slaughtering my men.

The craft had a conic front with the tip of it being a shield generator. The pilot sat near the top of the plane and behind him were four large projections with forward-facing guns that rotated around the conic portion of the craft. On the back of each of the guns was an engine and an extra, bigger engine in the middle of the back of the ship. Also, below the pilot were two guns that rotated to anwhere under the ship. This ship was clearly the object portrayed on the disk on Ron Tiko's head.

I noticed that he was chasing the slower men avoiding the quicker ones. I calle dfor five men to run slowly towards two tall trees. Tarlan noticed them and quickly followed. He sped up to catch them, ignoring his logic to evade the trees and pull up. He finaly caught up with them but it was too late and he hit the trees. To everyone's dismay he plowed right through them and stared back at me laughing. He knew he had powered through my only trap, but I knew he was wrong. BAM!!!!!! His ship exploded in a giant fireball after hitting the a giant boulder just beyond the trees.

The next day we sailed away and once again my clumsy men dropped the Sack of Winds and we sailed furthur away from Ithaca, my home.
