Photographs

Pictures from a little collection my mom made for my birthday just before I went to college. And other stuff too now.

Family

My godfather Greg and his wife Tricia from Indiana at our house near Christmas '97, with my sister. If you're into sports memorobilia definitely talk to him.

My cousins Brandon and Rebecca and Aunt Diane and Uncle Jim. They live in New York and we hardly ever see them now which bites. Brandon's in the Army now and Rebecca's in college.

My cousin Steven and Aunt Jane with Brandon and Rebecca in June of 2000. We see them a bit more and they live in Illinois. Steven and my Uncle Rob even came up to Vail some years ago and we went hiking, which was fun.

Paul, Amy, Ashley (left), Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Hurley in a Christmas letter photo from '99. (Over here Hurley. Just kidding. Paul probably said something to make him look the wrong way.) They live in Virgina but they used to move around a lot since Hurley and Lisa were both in the military. We went there and some of the civil war battle fields and the Pentagon. He navigates B-52's, which are the coolest bombers ever. I think Aunt Lisa's in intelligence.

This is (l-r) Steve, Casey, Dad, Sean, Tim, and Frank on July '97. We see them every Fourth of July in Kansas and set off mass quantities of fireworks, much to the joy of the local law enforcement. Last year we had a kind of competition with the neighbors, which was scary but fun. This may be weird, but I just don't feel that comfortable near ten year olds running around with lighters and large fireworks.

Aunt Dorothy (I don't know her exact relation but we just call her Aunt), and family besides Mom playing Monopoly in May 2000. She had never played before which I find amazing. I forgot who won, probably my Dad.

Tim, Dorothy, Sean, and Casey in July 2000 yakking it up during cocktail hour.

Dorothy at my graduation in June 2000. It was cool that she came and saw the whole deal and I'm sure she liked it too. It was a nice deal in this outdoor amphitheatre. It was student run and there was comedy, awards, music - the whole shebang.

Mom and Dad (Mike and Cathy) at graduation. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha. Sob. Sob. Sob. Bawl. Mom took most of these pictures but she's in this one at least.

Grandma Meehan at Christmas dinner in 1998. She stayed with us for a while over so she got to experience a real winter after living in Altanta for a while. Looks like Pat and I

Grandma Meehan at a high school awards banquet in May '99. That sweater was really itchy. She got to see the fruits of our labor and know that we work hard at school.

Grandma and Grandpa Meehan on 10/97 at their house in Atlanta. This is the picture I keep in my room at home propped against the Jesus statue.

Grandma Morris in Seneca Falls, NY where she lives. This is a statue of famous women's rights advocates, since the movement started and was based there. Chances are one of them is Elizabeth Cady Stanton. I guess Grandma doesn't like having her picture taken. This was in July 2000 on one of our trips back East.

This is my car that I got from the Meehan grandparents. Now my brother drives it and I walk everywhere. It's called the White Flash because I hit a parked car and took out the front right panel, which was replaced with a non-dented white one. The "flash" part isn't quite representative of its capabilites, but a car's a car and I liked it. This was taken on the first day of senior year. Little did I know it was not going to be over quickly. Oh no. Dig the hubcaps.

The Y3K shelter that we made after surviving Y2K. It's only good in case of nuclear winter. Some would call it a shoddy igloo, but it fits one and has a mini christmas tree, with lights!

Me, Dad, Pat, and Lauren on Easter 2000.

Me, Mom, Pat, and Lauren on Easter 2000. Now we can take off these clothes and go eat candy.

My parents in Florida for spring break 2001. We go there every year but we change cities and living arrangements almost every time. This is on Anna Maria Island, which is a really mellow place. My kind of town.

Mom, Pat and Lauren in the same setting as above.

Here's me with a mullet. I let my hair grow for six months (except it was trimmed in the back once) and then it was cut into the classic mudflap. This is my country rock star pose. The picture is kind of crappy but you get the idea. I learned that long hair is really annoying.

My brother's senior picture.

Me amd my dad with all my crap for sophomore year at DU.

Friends

Me and my friend Miguel from May 2000 after a band concert for the middle schoolers. I need to get a new shirt and tie.

Me and Tim (with the stars and stripes) before we skiied down the hill with the flags during the state meet at Vail in Feb 2000. You can tell I'm really happy that my Dad's holding us up while I thought the Star Spangled Banner was already being played down at the finish line. We were on time easily though.

Me and my best friend Erik after we lost our first-round game 5-1 or something like that. It was tough but we were happy with our high school careers. He even dyed his eyebrows so it would look better. As you can see that backfired.

Summer break before our camping trip. It was rainy but a welcome break from working in the crawlspace under my house. Plus we got to paddle around in an inflatable kayak. We went hiking and I almost ended up getting us killed on this loose-dirt slope but otherwise it was fun.

This is from the spring of 2000 and I'm just playing and he's just pretending to be listening.

This is me and Joe Petrie in Cub Scouts in spring of 1991. This was were I met most of the kids I'd know from 2-12th grade. I thought Cub Scouts was fun and Webelos was ok, but most of the people quit soon after Boy Scouts started, so that wasn't as cool. I think I made first class or second class - whichever is the one above tenderfoot.

Me and Nico in an engineering lab trying to build and A to D converter on the little breadboard there. You probably can't see, but so far the voltage divider part of it is done. Nico's from Norway and he's about four years older than me and he's on the ski team which won NCAA's this year. Unfortunately he didn't qualify so he had to stay here instead of going to Vermont. I thought this was interesting - military service is mandatory in Norway. That means he's fired rocket launchers before. Cool, eh?

Miscellaneous

Jazz combo at the Vilar Center in May 2000. Braden on tenor sax and Karl on trumpet.

Here's the seniors on the '99 soccer team. We dyed our hair blonde for the playoffs since the school's colors are black and gold. It's cool but it's hard to comb and it itches pretty badly while it's changing color.

The DU club soccer team that showed up to play CU. We lost about 15-0 since and I hurt my knee. The rest of the season went ok for it being the inaugural. We ended up with a 4-6 record or something like that. We had about 60 guys out at the start but by the end of he quarter we barely had enough people for away games. Surprisingly, though, we had more than enough for home games even though we had about 10 guys per practice towards the end. Wanker exploiters. This group here was good though.
