Naya Nuki: Shoshoni Girl Who Ran

The only thing remarkable about this book is that I won an original drawing from the book. The author, Kenneth Thomasma, came to our elementary school and he had us write stories in the fashion of his book. He kept reading our work and saying," You have to get my adrenaline pumping. I want to feel the rush of your main character. I WANT TO BE THERE. ADRENALINE IS THE KEY!" I absorbed all this and wrote down an exciting, fast-paced story with lots of injuries and descriptive words and I was one of the kids who got a drawing (it's on page 33). The actual book was about an Indian girl who is captured by enemy Indians and made to walk a long way but she runs from them. 3 of 5.
