This is my favorite book of all time. I started reading and the world of Big Brother drew me in immediately. I couldn't put it down and I finished it in under a week. Just the thought of what would happen to Winston next or the chance of another layer of intrigue being unfolded kept my eyes glued to the pages. The sheer hopelessness of the times made me want to see if Winston could possibly revolt against Big Brother and save the world, or at least himself. 5 of 5. [Update: It's like watching "The Matrix" for the first time, but better and longer.]
