My earliest proven Ford ancestor is William Richard Ford. I am fairly certain, but without concrete proof at this time, that his father was Jesse Ford b.1790 and d.1853 and his mother was Elizabeth Falwell b.1781 and d.1855.
In the 1830 and 1840 Federal census, Jesse Ford has a male in his household the right age to be William Richard. In 1850, William Richard and his wife Rhoda Jane (Roberts) Ford are living next door to Jesse and Elizabeth. In 1850, known son, John W, buys land on the same day from the same man as William Richard Ford and in 1854, both deeds are recorded as being delivered to William Richard. William Richard also named his son and daughter Jesse and Elizabeth. The only other "pieces of evidence" I have found was a single, very light entry in a photocopy of the Ford Family Bible records of John W's death date and a somewhat confusing birth record of William Richard's third daughter, Elsa Virginia, who is recorded as being the daughter of John W. Ford and Rhoda Jane Ford and reported by John W. Ford.
