Too Many Scams
Copyright © 2000 By Ray Thomas
This is a long article. It wasn't intended to be, but as I was preparing to write it I found myself with two pages of just headlines for the scams that I can think of. And I know there are many more. Each day reveals a number of new ones. Some they win, others they lose. But the sum total is the advancement of their aims to control us utterly. I know it's long, but you must read it if you are to understand your danger. If you don't have time to read it now, print it out. Take it with you and read it in odd moments as you have a few minutes. It will help you to put together the overall scam being used by the power seekers to slowly but surely become the only "decision-maker" in your life. The person you must come to for permission to do the simplest things; the person who "micro-manages your life.
I'm really getting discouraged. Because no matter what I, and others like me do, the international drive of the power seekers to gain total power over all of us continues to "march forward" apace. We investigate and expose as many of their scams and schemes as we can, many of us spending all our time doing it. But as fast as we investigate and expose another scam or scheme ten more appear, all of them affecting our freedom one way or another. They're obviously using the old "two steps forward, one step backward" method, but they have refined it so they can now take ten steps forward for every one they have to take back. They're literally overwhelming us with their scams. Here are just some of the scams that they are, or have been working on us, each one designed to facilitate one or more things required for them to become our totalitarian government.
THE HEGELIAN PRINCIPLE: I've written about this scam a lot because it's their basic scam. It's the one they use the most because it's the one that gets our permission to pass the more and more restrictive laws and regulations. It isn't really hard to understand once it's explained to you. It contains only three actions: 1. Create a crisis: or blow an existing small one out of proportion so you can claim it is something that needs something done about it now. 2. Publicize the crisis: plant stories in the papers and on television and radio every day. Highlight stories that already are appearing about your crisis to make it appear that there is a sudden increase in such activity. Soon people will be clamoring for a "solution" to the "crisis." Now it's time for phase three. 3. Offer a solution: one that takes away one or more rights and always some more tax money. In this manner you take people's rights away in such small "bites" that they never notice them gone until someone points it out to them.
CREATING CRIMINALS: At any given moment there are literally dozens, even hundreds of scams in motion designed to make as many things illegal as possible. They make laws and regulations that "cancel each other out." When you obey one, you are violating another. In this manner it is possible for them to make it impossible not to be a "lawbreaker." This is what Ayn Rand said about it: "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one 'makes' them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted --- and you create a nation of law-breakers --- and then you cash in on the guilt." (Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged")
SUBJECTIVE LAWS: One of the best ways to make laws no one can obey is to make them "subjective" instead of "objective." A "subjective law" is designed to be "defined" by those "enforcing" it. that way, the "law enforcement" agent can, at his/her whim, decide that what you are doing is illegal and arrest you for it...or not. The subjectivists insist that "there are no absolutes." But that is a "statement of an absolute ("there are no absolutes"). It denies not only the statement, but his/her entire philosophy in the process of defining it. By claiming that there are no absolutes, the subjectivist paves the way for laws that can be twisted to suit the "enforcer."
DISARMING AMERICANS: Have you noticed that few of the so-called "gun control" laws actually "control guns?" What they do is control our access to guns. They allow us to carry guns in our cars or have them in our homes so it can be said that they are not taking away our right to own them. But the law forces us to carry or have them in our homes in such a way as to make it impossible to get them into action fast enough to use in self defense. They know that it is much more difficult to perform atrocities on people who are armed and can resist. They must disarm us as a basic part of their search for power over us.
FOCUSING ON GUNS OR ON "HUNTING": They "focus on the gun" because they've done a good job of "demonizing" guns. Nobody wants to say anything good about the gun any more because they have us believing that "the gun has only one use: to kill." But that is a scam. Guns have one use, okay, but it can be used to kill for good or bad. It can be used by a criminal or a crazy to kill innocent people, or it can be used by a law-enforcement officer or an individual to kill in self defense or in defense of another It's not about guns. It's about self defense. They constantly harp on the idea that gun rights are for "hunters" and "gun sportsmen." Hunting is only a side issue. In hammering on hunting and gun sports, they trivialize the issue in the minds of people who do not hunt or shoot for sport. They completely ignore the self defense aspect, and for a reason: it makes gun rights one of the most important rights we have. The right to self defense is a basic right. It is a "natural right" we have by the very fact of our birth and no government has the power to deny it.
MILITARIZING THE POLICE: The law denies the government the use of the army to police the nation. So they simply train policemen to be soldiers. Have you noticed the proliferation of "SWAT" style groups in just about every federal agency? Troops indistinguishable from army troops. A good recent example of this trend is the "trooper" who pointed an M-5 machine gun at a six-year-old child in one of the stupidest overreactions I've ever seen on the part of a federal agency. This thug was not a "soldier," but I'm sure the distinction was lost on Elian Gonzalez as they forcibly kidnapped him and turned him over to Castro's secret police to be "conditioned." This particular thug worked for the Border Patrol. But other thugs work for some of the agencies never before thought to need such goons. Agencies such as "Fish and Game" or even the "Securities and Exchange Commission."
THE THIRTY YEAR GOVERNMENT PROMISE: If the power seekers in our government want something from us to which we object, they simply make us a promise to get us off their backs. Then, after the thing they want is law and has been for enough years to have become "institutionalized," they quietly take back the promise and pretend they never made it, or say that if they did it was a bad thing to do. That usually takes about thirty years. Long enough for those to whom they made the promise to either be dead or senile and the progeny of these people aren't even aware the promise was made.
NATIONAL ID CARD: One of the basic anethemas in a free society is the "National Identification Card." The American people will fight to the death to avoid the requirement that they get, and carry one. But each person in this country, including me, already has the equivalent in their Social Security card. Roosevelt promised faithfully that this card would never be used for universal identification. That got the "privacy" people of the time off his back and Social Security, with its universal number for all citizens, was instituted.
ILLEGITIMATE USE OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER AS ID: The illegitimate use of this number has become "institutionalized" in this country, and its use has made it possible for the federal government to keep a "dossier" on each of us that can be updated with every transaction in which we engage, public or private. Its use isn't yet universal, but it will be. Soon it will be the first thing a policeman asks for when he stops you to shake you down.
CHANGING HISTORY: In George Orwell's classic, "1984," his main character's job was to "erase history" to reflect each change in the policy of the government and to destroy any reference to history that didn't agree with it. Today, it's much simpler: the knowledge that most people don't remember much beyond their own lifetimes and can't be bothered "paying attention to politics" makes it easy to con them into believing what they want them to believe. Couple that with an almost complete control of the mainstream press and an active campaign to keep people from remembering, and it becomes difficult for those of us who know the real truth to get the word out.
A recent example is the campaign to vilify Ronald Reagan by twisting what he did and calling the eighties "the decade of greed" while pretending that all Reagan did was "cut welfare programs" and make people suffer. So let's take a look at what he really did: The eighties was a period of the strongest growth in this country's history. The period between 1982 and 1990 included 96 continuous months of economic growth and expansion. That's the longest period of such expansion ever recorded in peacetime. This expansion continues today, which is why the jobless rate is the lowest ever (in 2000). During that period, about 20 million jobs were created, in private industry where they actually add to the nation's wealth. The "Double-digit inflation" caused by the incompetent policies of the power seekers was reversed, bringing it down to acceptable levels that persist to this day in spite of the power seekers' efforts to reverse that trend. Interest rates have returned to acceptable levels and the stock market continues to rise, in spite of a few short-time reverses. Average family income increased more than 15% between 1982 and 1989 while income for the poorest one-fifth of Americans rose 12%. The tax rates for everybody dropped drastically and the richest 1% paid 40% more in taxes while the bottom 60% paid 20% less.
The total number of people with incomes below the poverty level dropped by 3.8 million between 1983 and 1989. And Reagan didn't "decimate" poverty programs. In fact, federal poverty programs increased from $149 billion to $180 billion in 1991 (in 1991 dollars). The deficit dropped between 1987 and 1989 to $150 billion in spite of the unchecked spending by a liberal Congress. He lowered the top tax percentage paid by all taxpayers from 70% down to 28% and the total tax "take" almost doubled from $550 billion to $991 billion. This gave the rich more money to invest, and history shows that when this happens, we all benefit because the rich inevitably invest in things that benefit us all, and that benefit is not confined to the new productive jobs that are created.
MAKING US DEPENDENT: Did you ever wonder why the power seekers in our government work so hard to make us dependent upon them? When you depend on their largesse, you tend to vote to keep those promising the most "bread and circuses" in power. It's no more complicated than that.
SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE: This pyramid scheme was created, not only to be able to take money from us every year (without paying us interest) that they could spend on their social programs and not have to give back for years. It gave them more and more control over each of us as we grow older.
"CONSPIRACY THEORISTS": One of the easiest ways to occupy the minds of the American people and keep their attention away from what is really happening is to give them a "conspiracy" to contemplate. Therefore, the power seekers actively promote the idea of a "massive conspiracy" to take over control so, while we are arguing about its existence or non-existence, we are not paying attention to what they're really doing. There are actually many conspiracies, all fueled by the same philosophy, collectivism. For this reason they look enough alike so that the idea of a single conspiracy is reinforced. But the fact remains that it doesn't matter. One conspiracy or a million, the answer is investigation and exposure.
THE UNITED NATIONS AS WORLD GOVERNMENT: The United Nations wants to be the government of the world. That's but one of the "conspiracies," and they make no bones about it. Recently, Senator Jesse Helms went before the Security Council and warned them that if they persisted in their wide-open efforts to become a de facto world government, to tax member states' citizens, and to create their own standing army they may find the United States, their biggest source of money, "turning away." So they immediately voted a schedule for the conference to talk about doing just that.
THE "SMOKING" EXTORTION SCAM: I don't even have to write much about this scam. It's another Hegelian scam to get us to allow them to make more laws to further limit us while extorting billions from the tobacco companies.
THE "DEMISE" OF COMMUNISM: In November, 1987, when Reagan's influence was at its strongest and the USSR was reeling from his sanctions and his scorn, Mikhail Gorbachev went before the Politburo and told them this: "Gentlemen, comrades, do not be concerned about all you hear about glasnost and perestroika and democracy in the coming years. These are primarily for outward consumption. There will be no significant internal change within the Soviet Union, other than for cosmetic purposes. Our purpose is to disarm the Americans and let them fall asleep." Did you ever notice that the same people are still in power in Russia? They just claim not to be communists any more. People who approached their political convictions much as others approach religion, suddenly all of them are no longer communists? Spare me.
THE "RICO LAWS": One of the biggest mistakes this country ever made was in creating a law that allowed police and governmental agencies to walk in and take our property on the basis of nothing more than the unsupported word of a paid informant. Today, it has increased incrementally from the original laws to the point where they can now stop us on the street, search us without a warrant, take what they find, and send us on our way with no charges even being filed. After they rob us, the "burden of proof" is on us to prove we didn't obtain the money or property illegally. We have to file a bond to assure the payment of their legal fees before we can even sue to get it back, often after they have taken all or money and property so we have none left for lawyers or bonds. This makes the cop in your rear view mirror a potential bandit. The very laws under which they operate are nonexistent according to the Supreme Court because they are unconstitutional.
This is what the Supreme Court says about such laws: "The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of its enactment, and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it. An unconstitutional law, in legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if it had never passed. Such a statute leaves the question that it purports to settle just as it would be had the statute not been enacted. Such an unconstitutional law is void, the general principles follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it... A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supersede any existing valid law. Indeed, insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land, it is superseded thereby." (Sixteenth AMERICAN JURISPRUDENCE Second Edition, Section 256, page 177)
EXECUTIVE ORDERS: This is a "power" made possible by the "War and Emergency Powers Act" FDR conned us into passing, giving him the power to make rules by executive fiat because in time of war, Congress cannot be expected to act quickly enough. Succeeding presidents (including Reagan) renewed this law every time it came up for renewal to retain that power, and even though we have not been significantly "at war" for years. Bill Clinton has put out more executive orders than any other president has down through history.
THE "RACE" QUESTION: One of the best ways to keep us from noticing what they're doing to us is to give us something to argue about. Which is why they're working so hard to "whip up" race hatred among us. Minorities have never had it so good, yet they're still claiming that racism and discrimination is "rife" in the land and drastic things need to be done to do something about it. That's bunk. You'll never be able to completely stamp out bigotry. But it isn't a major problem now in this country, no matter what the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and "Calypso Louie" Farrakhan may tell you. Divide and conquer. That's what the racism "problem" is for in this country right now.
THE ATTACK ON PROFIT: To promote collectivism and socialism, they must make people think "profit" is a "dirty word." But profit is what makes this world "go 'round." It's the "grease" that "lubricates" commerce between individuals, businesses, and nations. Even collectivist countries must make a profit on their business deals with other countries, which is something they don't want you to know.
DESTROYING THE CONSTITUTION: To enslave us, they must render the Constitution powerless. They already ignore most of its provisions with impunity because they own the courts. But there are still a few constitutional tenets they can't yet get around, such as the First Amendment (the press, among other things) and the Second Amendment (self defense and the right to have the means to accomplish it). They're working diligently to emasculate that document, which is the very basis for our laws, by telling us it's an "old document" that has "outlasted it's usefulness." That it is a "fluid document" that can be changed at will, in spite of the fact that there are very specific rules set down within it for changing it. When they finish emasculating that document we will truly be slaves.
DATABASES: Every day they create another database, both public and private, into which personal information about all of us goes. They "encourage" private enterprise to create such databases because they're limited by the Privacy Act of 1974 from doing it themselves. But since there was no law made to keep them from using information gained elsewhere (surprise, surprise!), they have private enterprise create them and then "share it". And you can bet that all information from all those databases finds its way into your "dossier" in Washington.
THE CHILD PROTECTOR SCAM: In order to have an easy time of it when the "take over" is complete, the power seekers know they must control what is taught our children in school so they can be taught collectivism and reverence for the government from the earliest age. But they've been running into opposition from parents and so have embarked on an ambitious campaign to destroy parental authority over what is taught to their children. They're doing this by making large numbers of "child abuse" charges based on noting but someone's subjective definition of what child abuse is. They have : "mandated reporters" (doctors, nurses, police, ambulance personnel, child care workers, school teachers, others who work with children regularly) who are legally required to report any suspicion of child abuse or suffer themselves, often "career-ending" punishment.
The numbers of children who have been kidnapped from their homes by child abuse workers have increased apace over recent years, and so have adoptions. The feds pay a fee to local agencies, based on how many children they can rip from their homes, for however short a period of time. They pay more if they can be kept for a longer time, and even more if they can be kept permanently and put up for adoption. In so doing, they completely destroy the parent's authority first, with their own children ("I don't have to mind you, I can call the social workers"), then with everybody else ("they're child abusers and they got what they deserved"). This effectively destroys their authority.
DESTROYING RELIGION: Our government is systematically destroying America's religious foundation and whether you personally believe in God or not is irrelevant to the danger inherent in that. One Of the primary things a dictatorship must do is destroy any possibility of a rival leader behind which a potential opposition may be organized. The power seekers in this government realize this, which is why they are destroying our religious base, little by little. They are perverting the constitutional prohibition against making laws regarding the establishment and/or practice of religion to allow them to make all manner of laws that have in effect banned the practice of religion in more and more venues every day
GLOBAL CONTROL OF YOUR CHILDREN: The United Nations is actively promoting the idea of global control of your children by use of their "International Convention on the Rights of the Child." Nothing "secret" about it, they're doing it right out in the open and most people are ignoring it or just don't know what is being proposed.
CREATING HISTORICAL ILLITERATES: know about the mistakes made by their forebears. If they don't even know about the mistakes of history, how can they avoid making the same ones?
These are just a few of the many scams they have running all the time. They have people spending all their time brainstorming more and more such scams. By so doing they hope to keep us so busy fighting scam after scam that we inevitably miss some. And that's according to their plan. I know I missed many of their scams, mainly because there are so many. But even if you only know about these, you will be aware that every day, in every way, they are working to undermine your freedoms and you can watch for each new scam as it comes about. If you only know about the Hegelian Principle, you can "read between the lines" whenever they start promoting a new "crisis." I hope that's enough.
