Duo went about his business, unpacking the things he had brought for his stay. Merrily he went along, opening a suitcase and tossing its contents into a drawer with Heero’s stuff. Well, Duo pretended to be merry. He felt Heero’s icy glare from the doorway stabbing into his back. Though he tried to ignore it, he couldn’t get Heero’s stare off of him. Finally, he stopped and turned. “What is it? You’ve been giving me the look of death for the past hour! What did I do?” Duo said, throwing his hands above his head.
“Where were you?” Heero asked coldly.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” Duo went back to putting his stuff away,
“Why won’t you tell me?” Heero growled.
“Why won’t you trust me?” Duo shouted in reply, turning again to face Heero. He put his hand on his forehead and tried to clear his mind. “Look, it’s complicated…”
“Bullshit Duo! I’ve gone through Hell this last week! The war was nothing compared to this.”
“Heero, why can’t you trust me? There are some things I just can’t say.”
“Duo, when we first agreed on this, we promised that there would be no secrets…” Heero started.
“And you’re keeping one from me! You never said why things would ‘change.’ What is it that you’re so afraid of?” Duo said exasperated. Heero Yuy, what’s wrong?
Heero sighed and reflected on what had brought him to this position. “When we stopped Merimeia, I wanted to give up being a soldier. But I couldn’t do it. Do you remember why?”
Duo paused for a moment, knowing full well why Heero wouldn’t have been able to stop killing then. “You weren’t human anymore. You had been so reprogrammed that all you could do was fight, kill, and win. For you, there was nothing else.”
“Right. I needed help. Who did I turn to?” Heero waited for Duo’s answer, knowing he had hit a nerve. “I turned to you, Duo. I asked you to help me become whole again. And you agreed. Until then, I didn’t realize what it was to have friends. I didn’t know what it was like to not be alone,” Heero said, pulling into his memory. “You showed me that I could call you more than my comrade. I could call you my friend. The other pilots were my friends too, but not like you. You were the only one who stopped help me, to ask if I was okay, to show that you cared. You were my first real friend Duo. And I’m scared because I might loose the first and most important friend I’ve ever had.” Heero knew that he had never told Duo this before and waited to see how Duo would react.
Duo stood up, walked to Heero, and kissed the top of his head. “But you won’t loose me. I said I’d help you and I meant it. I’m not gonna leave you Heero, that’s a promise.”
Heero looked up, meeting Duo’s shining eyes, feeling the positive energy that Duo gave off. He smiled at its feel, its warmth. “I hope so. Duo, my future has changed. I can’t stop fighting because…” Heero swallowed hard, “I’m a sacred warrior, the Knight of Mercury.”
Duo’s tried to keep from fainting. Of all the luck! How can this be happening? I get superpowers AND I get to keep Heero! “Heero, you’re serious?!”
Heero instantly thought Duo wasn’t taking him seriously so he tried to think of something to prove it to him. What can I do? How would he believe me? Unfortunately, nothing came to him. “Duo, I’m not crazy…” Duo laughed at Heero’s naivete, confusing his now fellow warrior even more. “Duo, I’m serious!”
“I know you’re not crazy” Duo replied in between laughs. “Heero, things WON’T change because I’m the Knight of Saturn! Our destinies are the same!”
Heero fell backward in shock, grabbing Duo by accident and pulling him down with him. They hit the ground with a thud, half in the room, half out. Heero and Duo took in the situation and cracked up, laughing happily.
Suddenly Duo remembered the disk he had brought back with him “Heero, I have something I want to show you!”
“What?” Heero eyed Duo cautiously as Duo bounced back into the room and pulled the crystal disk from his jacket.
Duo set the disk down and whispered to it, still not sure if there was a specific word he should say or if it was just the sound of his voice that turned the disk on. “Come here!” he called, waving Heero over to him as the disk started to glow. The same hologram he had seen on Saturn appeared in the air.
“Duo, where did you get that?” Heero asked in amazement, listening to the two images talk.
“Saturn,” Duo replied calmly. Seeing Heero’s shocked expression, he turned back to the image, saying, “Never mind.”
Heero watched the image intently, trying to pick up on what they were saying and what they meant. A personal declaration of… what? Interest? No… love. Interesting… After a few minutes, the disk darkened and the hologram ended.
“Cool huh?” Duo said, fascinated still by the disk.
Heero nodded in reply as Duo went back to putting his things away. Then, Heero noticed a small book protruding from Duo’s back pocket. Must have been loosened when we fell to the floor. “Duo, what’s that book in your pocket?”
“What book?” Duo asked, trying not to show is fear. Oh damn! I forgot about that!
“This book,” Heero said, trying to grab said object.
Duo ‘eeped’ when he felt Heero’s hand grabbing for the manga. “Oh that? It’s nothing! Nothing at all Heero!” Duo said quickly, trying to stop Heero from getting the hentai manga.
Heero’s expression turned to one of disapproval. “Duo, what is it?” Heero made one last grab for the manga, pulling it from Duo’s pocket. He scrambled out from under Duo, who continued to flail his arms around, trying to get the comic book. Heero opened the comic and flipped through it. About half way through the small manga, he raised an eyebrow and looked at Duo questioningly. “And why do you have this? It’s not even in a language you can read, I’m sure.”
Duo looked sheepishly at the ground. “For fun?”
“Fun huh? Ecchi.” Heero went back to flipping through the manga, seeing the pictures get more and more explicit. Suddenly, he saw a very unusual picture and got an idea. “I wonder where I can get some rope?” Heero wondered out loud.
Duo paled. “Wh…Why would you need rope Heero?” Heero showed him the picture he was looking at and Duo’s nose exploded in a gush of blood.

Treize sat in Lady Une’s room, waiting for his first meal in years. “It’s good to be back,” Treize said.
“It’s good to have you back. I’ve missed you, Your Excellency,” Lady Une told him.
“Lady Une, thank you for taking care of Merimeia all this time. You have done a fine job of raising her,” Treize said proudly, watching his daughter sleep.
“I know you’re not really Treize, but… Who are you then?” Une asked. She had begun to realize that even though she loved Treize still, they could never be together again.
“This is hard to explain. Let me try this… I am the spirit of the Knight, Treize’s spirit, in the body that formerly belonged to me. When I was in this body, you knew me as Treize Khushrenada, leader of the Romefeller Foundation and the OZ organization. But now, I am everyone I have been. I have conscious memory of all the lives I have lived, not just my current one like a normal person. I am everyone I have been, including Treize. Does that make sense?”
“Kind of…” Lady Une replied.
“Lady Une, you’ll understand eventually.”
“Treize, I missed you.”
“I know.”
Merimeia awoke with a start, obviously having a nightmare. When her eyes focused on her surroundings, she came face to face with a man she never thought she’s meet. “Dad?”
Treize looked at Merimeia, one memory in billions coming to the surface. “Merimeia, my little girl… I never thought I’d ever get to see you…”
Merimeia’s eyes began to water as she tried to pull herself to her father. “Dad?” she whispered.
“It’s me Merimeia.” Treize scooped his daughter up, rocking her gently. “Our next good-bye will be easier…”
Lady Une looked at Treize in surprise. “What do you mean, ‘Your next good-bye?’ Where are you going?”
Treize steadily met Lady Une’s look. “Thing will have to change one more time. That will be my final good-bye to Merimeia.”

Setsuna sat with Quatre and Trowa in their room, quietly sipping tea. They had pulled an extra cushioned chair into the little abode and taken a pot and cups from the kitchen. It was a nice break from the hectic way life for them had become. Quatre thought back to his first battle as a Knight, remembering the righteous feeling he’d had when the bow fell into his hands. What a great power! I’ve never felt so in control before.
“It’s quite a rush isn’t it?” Setsuna asked in response to his thought, breaking the silence.
“Can’t you turn it off once in a while?” Quatre asked annoyed.
“I wish. I don’t really like getting most of the thoughts I hear when I’m around men. Especially soldiers. Ecchi…” Setsuna grumbled. “Then again, Haruka wasn’t much better…” Setsuna sipped her tea, ecstatic at having green tea again.
“Who?” Quatre asked.
“Tenoh Haruka… Sailor Uranus…” Setsuna said, trying to make Quatre remember who Haruka was. “Oh wait! You’ve never met her! Ha, sorry! That’s later.” Setsuna took another sip.
“Huh? Isn’t Lady Une Sailor Uranus?” Quatre asked confused.
“Well, yes. But Sailor Uranus won’t be Lady Une much longer,” Setsuna said. “Make sense?” she asked, draining the rest of her cup.
“No,” Quatre replied flatly, frowning.
“Good.” Setsuna smiled evilly at Quatre’s confusion as she poured herself more tea. “Now, I know you have questions you’ve wanted to ask me. Shoot.”
Quatre sipped his tea and looked at Trowa, remembering his question. “Why is it that in all my memories of my past lifes, I’m with Trowa?”
“Something wrong with that?” Trowa said into his cup, mock anguish in his voice.
“Oh no! Not at all Trowa! I’m sorry…” Quatre began, nearly dropping his cup in his lap.
“It’s okay Quatre. I know what you meant,” Trowa smiled. You’re great. I’m so glad you’re here.
“You two finished? Should I leave the room for a while?” Setsuna teased, grinning.
Trowa blushed. “No, go on,” he said, taking a sip of his tea.
“In all of your past lifetimes, you two have beaten all the odds and found each other. There hasn’t been a time when you did meet,” Setsuna told Quatre. “I guess that’s how the Gods willed it.”
“You mean destiny?” Quatre asked.
“No, the Gods literally control both of you. They express a lot of interest in you because of who you are,” Setsuna clarified.
“And who are we?” Trowa asked, trying to outlast Setsuna’s game of vagueness.
“As you both know, Quatre’s soul is half angel, half human. His birht was considered a miracle of creation by the Venusians, a culture which highly respected the Gods and all their servants, especially the angels. When Quatre was first born, the people took him away and gave him to the priests to be raise as a holy child.”
“Sounds like a great life, having the respect of an entire planet,” Trowa said, staring off into space, trying to imagine having that kind of power. “Kinda like Relena.”
“No, it was a nightmare. Since I was considered holy, no one but the priests were allowed to visit me…” Quatre said, remembering his first life. “I was horribly lonely.”
Setsuna nodded her head solemnly. “Right. The Gods saw and knew it wasn’t fair for a heavenly creature to be kept in chains, far away from outside contact. So, they moved the stars to hail the birth of the Knight of Jupiter, the one destined to free the Valkyrie of Venus and bring her powers to the world. The Gods knew that until the truth of her birth was forgotten, the Valkyrie would always be pursued cloistered by the people of Venus. So the Gods wrote into fate that the Knight of Jupiter would always come to her, if even only for a moment, and they would love for a lifetime. Just to make sure that this stayed true, the Gods have always played a hand in both of your destinies, making sure that you would always find each other, even if you weren’t called on to act as the Knights you are. That is why Trowa is in all of you memories. He has been there for all of your lifetimes. Feel honored.”
Quatre’s gaze had turned to Trowa, Trowa meeting his eyes with a gentle smile. As they listened to Setsuna speak, they remembered their first meeting, the mood becoming calm and peaceful. Quatre’s eyes drooped and he settled into a calm sleep, dreaming of all the times Trowa had come and saved him from loneliness. Trowa smiled to Setsuna. “Thank you. You’ve done more for us than you know.”
“No, I know. You’re welcome.” Setsuna smiled and stood up. “Thanks for the tea! I’ll see you both at dinner.” Setsuna picked up the tray and she strolled out of the room casually, leaving Quatre and Trowa to themselves for a while. They’ve earned a nap. I should dress nicely for dinner tonight. She stopped for a moment then stepped to one side. Three… two… one…
“ONNA BAKA!!!” Wu Fei screamed from down the hall. Sally came bolting past Setsuna, running for her life.
“I JUST SAID YOU SHOULD TAKE A BATH WU FEI!!” Sally shouted in reply, trying to avoid her madly screaming partener.
“KONO KATSODO WA KOSEINAI!” [This is an injustice!]
Setsuna just sighed and continued on her way, sidestepping Wu Fei. What a handful.

Relena looked over what remained of her shattered dining hall proudly. Not a bad job of fixing it up! she told herself in congratulations. Relena had done a good job of either fixing the damage or covering it up with strategically placed decorations. She watched with satisfaction as her servants brought out platters of rolls and other ritzy hors d'oeuvres, setting them around the table in preparation for the big dinner. Setsuna must finally come clean! Relena thought with elation. Now we’ll finally know our destiny.
Hirde poked her head through the door, followed by Yuuichirou. “Need any help?” Hirde asked.
“Things are going quite well, thanks,” Relena replied.
“I just wanted to say what an honor it is to be fighting with you, Relena. I can’t believe how much things have changed since I first met you,” Hirde said.
“It is amazing, isn’t it! It’s hard to believe all the changes the world has seen in our lifetime,” Relena said with pride.
“And you helped move it all. Congratulations, it’s been the most important moment in history, all thanks to you,” Hirde said, shaking Relena’s hand.
“Thank you Hirde. It’s been work. Well, dinner is just about ready. Would you two like to take a seat and wait?” Relena asked, waving them over to the table. “Let’s hope we don’t get attacked during the meal again!” Relena laughed. Hirde chuckled politely and took a seat, waving Yuuichirou to her.

“This is it Drakala, our last chance. Now that all the Senshi have been awoken, you have to find the Prince, which you should have done a long time ago!” Malore shouted. He and Drakala were watching the Earth from a small room from their floating kingdom.
“I’ve found it. I know it may not seem like I do much, but I work hard and I found the Prince’s location. It appears they have him buried in a crypt deep underground with only one entrance,” Drakala said calmly in response, not taking her eyes off the Earth for a moment. “I want to feel that girl Sailor Moon writhe in my hands as I strangle the life out of her,” Drakala sneered.
“Shouldn’t you be going after the Prince?” Malore asked.
“I’m going, I’m going…” Drakala stood up and blinked away.

Catherine moved swiftly around the kitchen tasting all the foods that were being prepared. Occasionally she’d make a face and tell someone to add more salt, or cut something with water or cream. Something in her had been awakened when she first met Setsuna and she had been in the mood to cook. This is great! I love this! Somehow I know just what to do to make things perfect. The guys are gonna love this! Catherine took the finished items out to the table; a plate of rolls, a tray of drinks, anything that was done and ready to present. Each time she made a trip out of the kitchen, more of her comrades had arrived. As she set down a platter of skinned carrots, she saw Dorothy enter, dressed to kill and no where to go. “Dorothy! Come help me!”
“Sure thing Catherine!” Dorothy walked quickly into the kitchen, helping Catherine load trays or move dishes around. “So this is what goes on behind the scenes!”
“It’s just like running tech for the circus only with food instead of props. At least, that’s the way I think of it.” Catherine wiped down the counters and then picked up another tray of carrots. “Grab something that looks done and bring it out!”
“Got it!” Dorothy picked up a tray of glasses and a water pitcher, following Catherine. Unfortunately, Dorothy didn’t notice the door to the dining hall as it came slamming shut and knocked her over. She screamed, loosing the tray and sending glasses crashing to the ground, shattering into pieces.
“Dorothy, you okay?” Catherine asked, running back into the kitchen.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I hope Relena’s got more glasses…” she said grimacing at the mess. “I’ll get the broom!” she announced cheerfully.
Catherine suddenly got a very bad feeling in her gut. “Uh, why don’t you go sit down. I can clean up in here.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure,” Catherine said, trying to think up a reason to get Dorothy out of the kitchen. “I wouldn’t want you to ruin your pretty dress!”
Dorothy took the bait. “Okay, if you insist! Good luck!”
Catherine breathed a sigh of relief and excused herself to go get dressed for dinner.

Finally, dinner was ready. All the Senshi had gathered around the table, ready to begin. All the food had been passed around, each person getting what they wanted and starting to eat. Duo inhaled his food, Heero trying to ignore the human vaccum as he quietly ate what he had taken.
“You guys like everything?” Catherine asked the assembly.
“It’s great!” Noin replied. “Where did you learn to cook?”
Catherine just shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know. It just came to me. I had to prepare most of this on the fly.”
“It’s delicious. Thank you for doing this,” Lady Une told Catherine.
Zechs clinked his spoon against his glass, getting everyone’s attention. “If you had told me two years ago that we would be sitting around a table together, having a dinner and discussing our destinies, I would have laughed my ass off,” he said standing. “But here we all are, together. As friends, no less! Quite a ride we’ve had!” He raised his glass into the air, toasting the occasion.
The rest of the group said their agreements, then small talk broke out around the table. They ate politely, laughing at jokes and telling stories. After the first course was cleared away, the main dishes were brought out and passed around. Again, everyone congratulated Catherine on a job well done, except Duo who, once again, was too busy stuffing his face to breathe.
“Well Setsuna, it’s time. You promised to tell us everything,” Relena said, reminding Setsuna of the reason they were having this dinner.
“Alright, what do you want to know?” Setsuna asked, finally giving in.
“Start at the beginning. Tell us about the past,” Relena said.
“The beginning, eh? Well, okay. But remember, you asked for it,” Setsuna reminded. “People have always lived on other planets in this solar system. At first, each planet was its own kingdom, ruled by people of peace and justice. There were ten of these kingdoms: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. All of the Outer planets were sustained by very powerful magic that had been learned, allowing light and heat to penetrate the planet’s atmospheres and keep life going. Also, the different cultures grew and separated from each other, each kingdom becoming well known for its own strengths. Sadly, the monarchs of the kingdoms eventually became corrupt, seeking power and fame. The planetary kingdoms began to fight, wars breaking out all over the solar system. Each royal family gathered together armies to attack the other planets, using magic to transport their battalions back and forth through the solar system. During this time of war, some scholars began to study the ways of life, secretly looking for a way to end the wars.
“The scholars sought out people who were known to be strong in magic and in spirit, eventually finding that the majority of these people were from the royal planetary bloods. Unfortunately, the Martians discovered what the scholars were up to and in an attempt to keep the war going, they waited until all the Life Scholars were assembled in one spot and attacked. The spot just happened to be Venus. Now, Venus was more a culture of learning and entertainment, not one of fighting like Mars. Knowing this, the royalty of Mars decided that they would not only wipe out the Life Scholars, but they would try to take over Venus as well. However, when the Martian armies attacked and stormed the royal palace, Magellan Castle, the royal family did not flee, but stood their ground. During the fight, the Queen was backed into her room, where, knowing she had no other hope, she prayed to Venus itself, begging that she be given the power to defend her family and fight off the army. When her door was broken down, the soldiers found a very noble woman, dressed in a fuku, standing alone in the Queen’s room. This woman, really the Queen, fought off the soldiers by herself, using the powers she had been given by the planet to defend her family and her kingdom. After this, each of the other kingdoms reported that they too had found women of the royal blood who could harness the power of their respective planets. Thus, the Sailor Senshi were born.”
“So that means that each of us is descended from royal blood, right?” Sally asked.
“Yes. Each one of you is a Princess of you respective planet court,” Setsuna confirmed.
“So how are our powers passed on?” Sally continued.
“The exact process is different depending on where in the solar system you are,” Setsuna began. “For the Inner Planets, power is passed on to the eldest child. If the Senshi dies without giving birth to a child, the power usually goes to the child of a sibling or other relative. With these planets, it doesn’t matter if the child is male or female, the eldest will be the next Senshi. Earth usually has male children and Moon is usually female, but it is not always so. However, the Outer Planets always have female Senshi. The oldest born is the heir to the throne, but the first female born in the royal family will be the Senshi. This is for one reason. During the time of the Life Scholars, it was discovered that all Gods are one God and all Goddesses are one Goddess. The Goddess is a Triple Goddess, represented by the three faces of womanhood: the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. Sailors Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are the embodiment of those three faces. Uranus is the Mother, wielder of the Space Sword who fights with all her strength to protect life. Neptune is the Maiden, holder of the Aqua Mirror to reflect on all that is and see the way. Pluto is the Crone, user of the Garnet Orb, seer of all that is and was, bringer of that which must come, death. Saturn is our leader for she is the Goddess Herself, using the very powers of life and death as her element, capable of destroying entire planets with her powers.”
“Setsuna, where do our powers come from?” Noin asked.
“Our powers come from Star Seeds, glowing crystals that are the true soul of a planet. Some Star Seeds, like the Moon’s, are stronger than others. The Star Seed carries the blessing of its planet and it is what makes a Senshi. When we hear the voice of the Star Seed speaking to us, we can utilize its power and become the warriors we are. Usually, something must happen for us to hear that voice, like a meditation or a summoning. For example, Sailor Saturn, because of her extremely dangerous power, can only be awakened when Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto use the three talismans to summon her. Then, the vessel of Saturn’s Star Seed can hear the call of the planet and be awoken to her true destiny. Saturn is just the most extreme of all cases because her power is so dangerous, yet if something truly more powerful than us does come along, she can destroy it, no matter what the cost.”
“And Star Seeds are what the Star Destroyers are after…” Noin said to herself, beginning to connect everything together.
“Exactly. They want our powers, so they’re trying to steal the Star Seeds,” Setsuna said, nodding
“What about the Knights? Where do we come from?” Zechs asked.
“The Knights are personal guards to the royal families,” Setsuna explained. “Usually during their lives, they also command the planetary armies. You are different from the Senshi though, in that there is never more than one of you at a time. You and only you have always been the Knight of your planet. As you know Duo, each Knight takes some kind of test to make sure he or she is worthy to fight in the current life. If you pass, you are given some kind of item as a trophy, often used to increase your powers. Duo is the only one to have his.” Setsuna looked at Duo. “They’re the black gloves that Hotaru gave you.”
“Oh, thanks Hotaru. The gloves are really cool!” Duo said, looking up from his food at the mention of his name.
“How exactly are OUR powers passed down?” Heero asked.
“Randomly. The only constraint is that you are born into a noble family. The royal astronomers are taught constellations that signal the birth of the different Knights. On each planet the sky is divided up to represent the different noble houses. Whichever part of the sky the constellation lies in will tell which royal house the child is born into. If the constellation was on a cusp, or twins were born, the Knight’s Icon is presented to the different children and which ever child the Icon reacts to, that was the true Knight.”
“Tell me, how did the Moon end up leading all the planets? How were the wars finally ended?” Relena asked, not just historical interest in her voice.
“As many of you know, sometimes the kingdoms would ban together and try to overthrow another planet. The tables were turned after one fateful event. During a mining job on the Moon, the miners found a beautiful shining crystal unlike anything they had ever seen before. This was long before the Silver Millenium when the Moon still glowed with its own light. The crystal gave off an energy much like the Moon’s, and it was found that the Senshi of the Moon could use this crystal as a deadly weapon or as a tool of salvation. It was the most powerful thing ever discovered, a crystal that used the power of an entire planet. Because the Moon had this weapon, no one dared to try and attacked the Moon for fear of having their planet destroyed. When Queen Serenity first came to the throne, the solar system was still at war. But unlike many of the other monarchs, rulers who continued much of the fighting as blood feud now, she was clear minded and well intended, hoping to us the mysterious Imperium Silver Moon Crystal to bring an everlasting peace to the planets. After millenia of fighting and negotiating, Queen Serenity managed to create peace, becoming the most respected ruler of all time. This was the beginning of the Silver Millenium. It was decided that all of the planets were all kingdoms in one solar system, a place where all people must live together to survive. Serenity took over the position as Queen of the Solar System, knowing she could use the Silver Moon Crystal to maintain peace.”
“Setsuna, how do you know so much?” Quatre asked, amazed at what Setsuna could remember.
“The royal bloodline of Pluto was actually started by the God’s face Cronos, controller of Time. Because of that, our people have always had strong psychic abilities and the power to bend time and space as needed. It was also told to us that our Senshi would have an additional responsibility: to guard the Gate of Time in the Fourth Dimension. Because of this, Sailor Pluto would be nearly immortal and be able to see all the events that ever occurred, plus she would have extreme telepathic and psychic powers. There was only one drawback: she could never leave the Gate of Time unless absolutely necessary. That meant a nearly eternal existence of solitude. I was shown to my post just at the beginning of the Silver Millenium, long before any of the current Senshi were first born and just before the Knights finished their last appearance. With my existence at the Gate of Time, I have learned just about everything that has ever happened in the universe, especially our solar system.”
“When I first met you, you said that I was not who I think I am. What did you mean?” Catherine asked Setsuna. No one expected what she replied.
“None of the women here except Hotaru and myself really exist.” Setsuna felt the tension shoot up in the room. “When Princess Serenity and myself felt the war coming, we decided it would be best if we disguised ourselves so that not even we knew who we were. To do that, we changed fate and altered history as we know it. All of you are really just the Senshi of the past in different bodies which don’t really exist either. In order to complete destiny and create the future that must be, Serenity and I will combine our powers with your planet blessings and change history again, altering everyone’s memory of the war to something that should have happened. The Gundam Pilots will remain, Treize will still have been martyred for peace, Zechs will still be believe dead, but Relena will not have been the driving force for peace and all the rest of you will be forgotten by the rest of the world. Only those of us sitting in this room will know what truly happened.”
Awkward silence. No one moved, even the sound of breathing ceased. Lady Une uneasily spoke first. “So then who will we become?”
“You will become the Sailor Senshi of the past, regaining all of your memories as far back as the 20th century. You will also remember history as we remember it now, but you will have a second memory, the one that the rest of the planet will remember. We have to do this in order to make destiny complete itself.”
“Why did you have to change things to begin with?” Dorothy asked bitterly.
“Because I foresaw the arrival of the Star Destroyers. I knew they would come. And if you remained in your former forms, the Knights would not have been activated and you would all have been killed. Then Time would collapse on itself and everything would cease to be. I did what I did because I had to,” Setsuna replied calmly.
“Who will have achieved peace?” Relena asked. I will not loose my place in history!
“Indirectly, you will have. The way things will be set, you will have married Chiba Mamoru, the man who practiced total pacifism. You, Chiba Usagi, will have been the one who gave him the support he needed to continue with his campaign through the hardest of times. You will still be Queen of the Earth Sphere. And because you are Queen now, no one will resist when you become Neo-Queen Serenity, ruler of the solar system. Everything is set as it must be.”
“So what’s left? Is there anything left before we do this big change?” Relena asked in closing.
“We must go to the Gate of Time. Only there can we get the correct energy to perform the change again. We have to transform before we can find the last Senshi.” Knowing what the next question would be, Setsuna continued. “Chiba Mamoru, the Senshi of Earth, is sealed away deep in the Earth. The only way to get into his resting place is with our old powers. We have to get to the only entrance to the crypt. A hidden door in the North Pole.”
