Epilogue

Sailor Uranus watched in despair as Sailor Neptune?s life faded away and she went limp in her arms. Knowing that everything had been lost, Uranus resigned herself to her fate. So this is what it finally comes to? HOW?! HOW can this be the end?! If our future was never to be, then our fates were sealed before we began. There is no way to win now? Even Sailor Pluto, she who never dies, is gone.

Just as Sailor Chaos wound up to deliver the final blow, the Cathedral was hit by a tremendous shockwave, causing the entire structure to start collapsing. Chaos stopped, taken aback by the sudden interruption, then started to convulse as the Cauldron exploded in a shining ball of pure light. Writhing in agony, Chaos began to screech in an unholy sound.

?WHAT? IS? HAPPENING TO ME?!?? Chaos contorted madly, cringing in on itself over the now blinding light of the Cauldron. Before Uranus could shield her eyes, the Cauldron exploded, brilliant stars shooting into the air. Beams of white light began to shoot out of Chaos?s form, enveloping the creature in total light before it too, exploded into nothingness. When Uranus could finally see again, the brilliant shining form of Sailor Cosmos was hovering where Sailor Chaos once was.

?This battle is over,? she said with a relief that lifted Uranus?s heart beyond measure. Cosmos looked out over the Cathedral, then lifting her head back, summoned forth the power of the Cauldron, rebuilding the Cathedral and restoring the Cauldron to its rightful place. Looking back down at Uranus, she smiled at her guardian?s confused expression. ?I did as the cycles of time dictated. I finished this battle where it started; in the past. And now it is time for us to return.?

Out of the corner of her right eye, Uranus noticed a small gray glimmer. Turning to look, she saw a beautiful gray star seed hovering in the air. Next to it, a brilliant yellow star seed faded into existence. After that, a red one formed to her left, then a deep blue one, an emerald green seed after that, then a dark golden star seed glimmered in to being in front of her. She felt another one form behind her, then finally an aqua star seed appeared over Neptune?s body.

?Michiru?? she whispered to the star seed. As if hearing her voice, the star seed flared for a moment, then merged with Neptune?s body. Instantly, Uranus felt Neptune?s heart start to beat. Slowly, Neptune?s eyes fluttered open. ?You??

?Haruka..!? Neptune gasped.

?Michiru!? Uranus crushed her lover to her chest, tears streaming down their faces. ?I thought the end had come!?

?But we survived. And now we can build our future,? Neptune said softly.

One by one, the other Senshi returned to life until the entire Sailor Senshi team was reborn. They embraced, cheering and crying, thankful that they had won. Sailor Venus paused for a moment and turned to Sailor Cosmos. ?What about the Knights? What happened to them?? she asked.

?Yeah? What about them??? Sailor Mars asked, suddenly worried.

Cosmos smiled again, then held out her arms in front of her. Eight soft glowing forming floated forth from her open arms, one going to each Sailor Senshi except Pluto. ?They have been reborn. Consider them your children.? Cosmos gently set foot on the Cathedral floor before the great Cauldron of Stars, handing the small sleeping child in her arms to Sailor Pluto. ?I have one final task to perform.? With that, Sailor Cosmos?s fuku melted away into Princess Serenity?s gown, the Silver Moon Crystal blooming in her hands. Wings spread out behind her, Serenity lifted into the air and disappeared from the Cathedral.

Floating in the void of space, Serenity looked down on the Earth, ready to finish her great work. The people have suffered much. My reign will be one of peace and love. With that, she held the Silver Crystal above her head and closed her eyes. I cannot do this alone? please my friends, help me?

As if hearing her voice, the Senshi lifted their faces to the roof of the Cathedral, thinking of their Princess. Their power flowed out of Sagittarius Zero Star to Serenity and into the Silver Crystal, which began to envelope the Earth in its beautiful white light. Serenity thought about each of her friends, knowing that she could never have come this far without them. Memories of battles and shopping trips, wars and food fights, tears and laughter, came to Serenity. Her love for her friends and for the Earth took over her whole being, creating the energy required to purify the Earth. Her gown transformed into the gracefully dress of Neo-Queen Serenity, the Silver Crystal forging itself a crown and gently placing itself on her forehead. In that moment, a giant crystal grew over Tokyo, transforming the city into a holy land that would be the center of the Earth for thousands of years to come. Neo-Queen Serenity could feel the power and force of all her royal ancestors behind her as she appeared in her throne room in the Crystal Palace in the center of the newly created Crystal Tokyo. Millions of little points of light lifted off the planet, flying in all directions, headed to the plants that they would begin their new lives on as the other eight Planetary Kingdoms were restored in the blink of an eye.

The Senshi leapt off the ground at Sagittarius Zero Star, flying off to their own kingdoms. In the throne room of the Crystal Palace, King Endymion appeared proudly beside his queen, a baby girl in his arms. Handing the child to Luna, Endymion bowed to his bodyguards as they left for their own destinies. Suddenly, the doors to the throne room were thrown open and rushed Chibi-Usa who ran to her parents. Bending down to scoop up her daughter, Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion seated themselves on their throne, beginning their reign of peace over the solar system.

Ami looked around the now flooded surface of the planet Mercury, rivers covering the entire sphere. Walking gracefully into her castle, Ami was greeted by a face she had not seen in over two thousand years. Cradling a child in his arms, Zoicite stood waiting for Ami, ready to take his place as her king as was originally ordained. Looking at the child Zoicite held, Ami made a mental note about how even now, his eyes seemed to whisper his favorite phrase, ?Omae o korosu?? She chuckled at that thought and assumed her place as queen.

Minako held her small Knight in her arms, cooing at little Quatre. Just before she and Makoto had parted, they vowed to give their Knights their old names and make sure they never had to search to find each other in this lifetime. Minako, now dressed in the garb of royalty tried to hold a high aire about her as she bowed to her people and turned to walk from the plaza in front of Castle Magellan, but she tripped and fell flat on her face, her subjects trying VERY hard not to laugh. As upset as an otaku warrior maiden can get, Minko was about to leapt to her feet and rant, when a soothing voice helped her to her feet. Looking up at her rescuer, Minko came face to face with Kunzite, her lover from the Silver Millenium. Totally taken back by his beauty and grace, she handed Quatre to a now human Artemis and leapt on Kunzite with all the skill and force of a rabid fan girl, knocking the poor man to the ground. It wasn?t long before they announced their intentions to marry.

Rei returned to Mars, the same desert that it was when she had last been here, but this time it felt even more empty than normal. She was conflicted by too many emotions at once. She wondered what Setsuna had meant when she had said that everything would work out all right. Her lover who had nearly returned from the grave was now just an infant that she would never be allowed to love. She looked down at the child, unsure of what to name him, hoping that something good would come of this. The first night she spent in the palace, she was tormented by memories of the Silver Millenium and a man she could barely recognize. The next morning, a fanfare announced the arrival of a nobleman from Earth, whom Rei immediately remembered as the man from her dreams. Jadite had come to set things right and take his place by Rei?s side. On a final fleeting thought, she stole away to the nursery where her Knight slept, looking at his small face. ?We will have our time to love as we should?? she whispered before she returned to the man whom she knew was her true destiny.

Makoto?s return to Jupiter had become somewhat legendary to her people. When the Princess was said to have flown down from the heavens like an angel from Venus and upon setting foot on the ground, roses sprang from the ground where she stepped and the entire planet burst with plant life like it hadn?t since before the Silver Millennium. Looking across the landscape, Makoto cried two tears that slid down her face and landed in the open hand of her Knight, Trowa. The tears crystallized into beautiful emeralds, prized jewels of the Jupiter royal family. Makoto thought about the miracle for a moment, then declared that the jewels would be called the Bloom Tears in honor of the woman that she was and that her Knight so faithfully served and loved. The tears are said to be the most powerful of all the magically items on Jupiter and are only bestowed up the greatest of the Sailors of Jupiter. Makoto however, was crowned Queen of Jupiter and married Nephrite, her lover from ages long since lost.

Hotaru did not receive a warm welcome when returning to Saturn. Since all of her subjects had thousands of years of history returned to them through the Great Miracle, they knew all too well that the Senshi of Saturn was a very very VERY bad sign. Not only was she considered by her own people to be the Angle of Death, Hotaru was also quite young. Not for a long time had the people been ruled by the Senshi herself, and never by one so young. It would take Hotaru possibly her whole lifetime to change that idea. To avoid as much oppression to her rule as she could, Hotaru appointed two others of her court to help her rule the planet until such time as she was deemed fit and worthy to rule alone.

Neptune was quite ready to accept their queen and more than willing to serve her. Less populated than the planets closer to the sun, Neptune had an easier time moving her subjects to her rule, overcoming the idea that she should protect the solar system from her remote outpost. Michiru however, knew that hard times would be coming, especially with the Black Moon invasion pending. She realized though that Neptune would have to remain out of that battle if history were to work in the correct fashion. It would be a chance for the people of Neptune to try and develop a specialization and increase their economy in case of wars that she hadn?t already known of.

The people of Uranus turned to the stars under Haruka?s rule. Haruka truly ended up fulfilling her role as the Mother, not only to her people but to her Knight as well. A great ruler, she made sure her people were provided for and taken care of, since there were so few of them to begin with. She also helped support their traversing endeavors with extra funding when it was needed and appropriate. Her Knight, whom she raised with Michiru and the Knight of Neptune, made a wonderful son to her, letting her more maternal side come through. Though still a great warrior and protector, Haruka became known as a very loving parent as well.

Setsuna of course had a hard time returning to her planet. Her people were all but devastated during the Silver Millennium War, leaving very little in terms of communication and transportation. On top of that, Setsuna found she had a hard time returning to her position as ruler after being isolated at the Gate of Time for so long. Pluto, the most isolated planet of all, became populated by warriors of great magical power and with their special affinity for Time, though small in number, they provided a very valuable ally. However, Setsuna knew that there was a matter still unresolved. The other planets had Knights, though hers did not and she felt the need to provide that for her people, even if it was just a symbol. Then one night, that all changed.

Setsuna heard a strange voice speak to her in a dream shortly after her coronation. It was a voice she had never heard uniquely before, something less than the gods, but strong enough to punch a hole through space and time and reach her. It was a cry for help from someone that she knew right away would be vital to her in the future. During a communication with Neo-Queen Serenity, she said that her people would fare well enough without her and that she was returning to her old post as Guardian of the Gate of Time shortly.

?Shortly? If you feel you need to return to the Gate, you should do so immediately,? Serenity said.

Setsuna shook her head. ?There is something I must do first. Someone out there needs me and I must find them??

?I see. Contact me again when you return,? Serenity replied.

Setsuna nodded and ended the communication. She looked up at the sky, snow falling gently on Pluto?s surface. The great work is done. The Black Moon will invade, but beyond that, only Time can and will tell. I will listen for what it says. Now, there is something I must attend too?. With that, Setsuna transported to the Gate of Time, opened the way, and stepped into the Time.
