History:
Taylor's family owned the most renowned horse farm in in eastern
Kentucky. Her mother tried desperately to instill the qualities of a
proper lady in her. But every chance she got she would sneak off to be
with her beloved Blue. He was a gift from her father for her 16th
birthday. A colt from a champion line her father wanted to see just how
good of a horse woman she would turn out to be. At age 18 she entered
Taylor's Blue Heaven into the Ruidoso Rainbow Futurity and took home the
purse, proving herself not only as a trainer but a jockey as well. Her
father was proud of her but refused to allow her to see that. He had
agreed to allow her to train Blue but never in his wildest dreams did he
imagine that she would manipulate her way into taking Blue onto the
track. He decided that she would have to learn her lesson and she was
forbidden in the horse barns for the next year. So, she decided rather
than bend to her father's will that she would set out to build her own
farm, her own reputation. She set out for the one place she had always
longed to go, Hawaii. The bombing didn't detract for the appeal of the
Island paradise in her eyes but only added to the excitement.
