Chapter 1 - Introduction
Picture the scene, WCW is in a ratings drought (never happened before, right?) and in desperation
Ted Turner calls on a fan to bring the business back to glory (you!).

Battio Games hope that you enjoy this game, it gives you what we think is the freedom to run WCW
like the real life Promoters do, but also gives you the pressure they're under (money, ratings, etc).
Half of the fun of this game is knowing how to play it, so read the documentation first (this!).

Chapter 2 - The Basics
After typing in your name press return and you'll be in your office you'll have five options:
1. Run a card - Run a card (WCW Nitro, Thunder or PPV, depending on the day)
2. WCW Business - Promote WCW, Check on the Money or check the popularity.
3. Champion - See who the champ is!
4. Options - Change the Options
5. Exit - Exit back to Windows.
Firstly get to grips with the office, go to champion by pressing 3 and it should say:
The World Champion is....
Jeff Jarret
then Press Return and you should be back in your office, go to WCW Business by pressing 2 then money
by pressing 2 money and it should say:
You have $40000000
press return and you should be back in your office then goto WCW Business and then Popularity (2 then 3)
and it should say:
Your popularity is 3
and a comment underneath
On the Options screen it will have 3 options
1. Match text - On/off (default - on)
2. Change Promoters name - Whats my name?
3. Exit - leave the options screen
Press return to go to your office and go to Run a New card by pressing 1
(i'll leave out promoting the business for the moment because it is very complicated)
It will show a list of Wrestlers choose the first one by writing in his name then you can choose a
gimmick match if you want, but don't bother for now i'll describe some more about them later
(be careful because if you spell the name wrong BOOM! the ratings drop.
I mean who wants to see Hulk Hoban or Stung?) do that for the second Wrestler and then do that for
each Wrestler for each match. You should now be in the Match screen (if match text is on) press return to
go through the play-by-play for the match (sometimes you'll have to press return twice or three times to see
the next move, that's because a move that is not described in the play-by-play is being exicuted
such as climbing the ropes or every now and again when they tie up it won't be described. When the
match finishes it will show you the result for example after a Hulk Hogan Vs Sting Match it will say
Hulk Hogan def Sting
Match Rating ?
where it says match rating they're will be a number, this will be described in more detail later
after all six matches it will go to the after show screen where it will show the Shows rating and
WCW's popularity. Now that we have covered the basics you can go and play the game as much as you
like, but if you are still unsure of some things, or want to know more read on as we will go into
more detail on curtain aspects.

Chapter 3 - Running a Card
The most importat aspect of running WCW will be Running cards, I mean where would WCW or the WWF
be if they didn't have shows? If you want to be successful you have to choose good matches! Don't
set up a whole card of Jobbers or your shows will have low ratings, low ratings means low popularity
low popularity means no job!

Of course getting popularity to be high isn't just the show but the show is the main part but, as
a Bill Goldberg says, "You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk!". Promotion is nothing
without a good show, and I will give you some tips on running good shows.

Fistly i'll tell you about the gimmick matches, at the moment only three are availible, I am working
on a Gimmick editor, but until then only three are availible;
Cage Match - first Wrestler to escape the cage wins the match.
Table Match - first Wrestler to send his opponent through a table wins the match
Ladder Match - first Wrestler to climb the Ladder and grab the Bat wins the match
now to choose these type in the number that is next to the type of match in and you've choose it!

Secondly always remember that the main event will ALWAYS be a title match, unless the champ
loses his title in an earlyer match then the match will not be a title match but the ex-champ against
whoever you chose.

Lastly i'll give you some hints about running cards.
One of the Secrets is to choose "popular" Wrestlers, Hulk Hogan is an example of a "popular" Wrestler
he will usually give you a good match rating which in turn gives a good show rating.

If you choose someone like Hulk Hogan then choose a "Popular" opponent, what's the point in
putting Hulk Hogan in a match against Vince Russo?

Also, make sure that you spell the names Right!! That sounds stupid but if you spell the name
wrong the Wrestler will be read as a untrained Wrestler and the match rating will not be as high
because he doesn't know how to Wrestle properly and the fans won't enjoy watching him try!

These tips won't always guarantee a good card, but will surely help!

Chapter 4 - The Business
The Business section allows you to check your finances (to see how close you are to bankrupting Ted Turner!),
to see whether or not WCW is popular and to promote WCW.

Section 1 - Promoting WCW
This is almost as impotant as running good cards! I mean who would want to watch WCW Nitro if they
had never heard of it? But publicity doesn't come cheap (unless you advertise on WCW Live!)
advertising is important, and expensive. To advertise on Prime time TV costs $1,000,000!!!

If you want to advertise WCW you have to go to the Promote WCW section of the WCW Business section.
When you are on the Promote screen you have to choose on what scale the promotion will be on
will it be a small campaign on the Internet show WCW Live (free) a medium scale Daytime TV
slot ($500,000) or a Majour Scale Prime Time TV slot ($1,000,000)? Remember though that you only
have $40,000,000 which goes away very quickly if you spend loads of money Advertising then have
terrible shows, so only have Prime time adverts if you think you have the Running Card Part Sussed!

Section 2 - Money
The money section is small, but important! Basicly, you start with $40,000,000 and you have to keep
the amount of money you have as high as possible! If your money drops under the 0 mark then WCW
will be declared bankrupt and you will lose your job as Promoter, so be careful with your money!!

Section 3 - Popularity
The Popularity screen isn't that complicated it just shows how popular WCW is and then has a comment
from Ted Turner to tell you if you are doing well or not, but Popularity is very important in the game
and is present in every part of the game.

When you start the game WCW isn't very popular, but as the game goes on you have to aim high!
Popularity will be the difference between "Making a profit", "Breaking even" and "making a loss"
when you start off WCW is having trouble even breaking even. This is because WCW's popularity is
low, it is a level 3 and the amount of money you make from each show depends on how high the popularity
is. When you run cards at the end you will see the Show rating, the show rating is part of
the popularity, the popularity will change after every show and each time you promote WCW.
You might get fired if at the end of the year your popularity is too low, so if I was you i'd make
sure your popularity is high!

Chapter 5 - The Past, The Present and The Future
WCW Promoter has been in development for over a year! Work started on the game on the Amiga at the
end of 1999 titled "Wrestle-sim - TNM for the Amiga!", after 2 months of working on it I had finished
but the game was never released properly because the game was too basic, Wrestlesim was abandond
and WCW Promoter was born! WCW Promoters origonal title was "Wrestlesim 2000", I started by
thinking that "Wrestlesim 2000" must have something to make it stand out from any other sim,
the idea was to make a "Wrestling business sim" instead of a "Booker sim". The plan was
finished in a few weeks and it was pretty sketchy as I wasen't too sure what I was trying to do,
but as I looked at the plan again it was pretty obvious what I wanted to do.... MAKE A SIM BASED
ON WCW!!! After the second plan was drawn up and the game fitted together perfectly. When I
started work on the game I was working on a WCW Business sim on the Amiga, WCW Promoter (Amiga)
was fineshed in a few weeks, created in Amos Basic the game was different from TNM (the only sim I had tryed)
but unfortunatly the game didn't work out as planed and WCW Promoter / Wrestlesim 2000 was
abandond. In March 2000 when I got my PC I looked on the internet for other sims and I stumbled
across some pretty good ideas from sims like PWP, Zeus and NCW and WCW Promoter was reborn!
After the plan for WCW Promoter (PC) was written up I started work on a PC Version of WCW Promter
(created in QBasic) which I had been playing on my Amiga for ages (well I didn't have a PC
so I couldn't really play TNM 7 could I?) and implamenting bits from PWP (popularity, TV ratings),
zeus (bieng able to "watch" the match, gimmick matches), Extreem Warfare (Money, promoting WCW)
and the original WCW Promoter (Match ratings, the effect Popularity has on WCW, being able to get
sacked or go bankrupt) and the game fitted together perfectly I HAD MADE THE GAME AFTER A YEAR
AND TWO ABANDOND SIMS OF TRYING!! But I wasn't happy with it so I changed a few things around
after I finished to bring the game I have made here, with and extra gimmick match (a Cage match),
a match that you can watch on the screen instead of having it scroll along faster that you can read
it and having 4 Nitro's, 4 Thunder's and a PPV every month instead of having a Nitro, Thunder and
a PPV every month. The game is now finished and released and I hope you are enjoying the hard
work that I have spent on this game and now I am working on updating the game, adding more gimmicks
making a gimmick creator and working on a WWF version. But I would like help from you,
anyone who can program plugins please help me by creating a few, if you can! And anyone
who has some ideas for future versions please e-mail me at ohmygod.com@england.com with any
ideas you have.

Thanks for your time in reading this
