Fifty seasonal/year-round events await you as you Ramble the Rockies in 2003. Come walk the Wyoming and Colorado YRE/SEA events in June 2003. The 13th Biennial AVA Convention is rapidly approaching and it’s time to register for the Quick Start Program. The Rocky Mountain Regional Clubs along the Interstate 25 corridor from Pine Bluffs & Cheyenne, Wyoming, south to Trinidad, Colorado, offer a variety of seasonal/year round events that are waiting to be walked.

The events include: riverside nature trails, canyons, fossil beds, mountain meadows, Air Force Academy trails, walks through historic western cities and towns, and challenging trails in the mountains and foothills. Walkers will find a variety of wildlife, scenery, and history to enjoy. The Rocky Mountain Regional clubs have organized a Quick Start program that will enable walkers to select walks prior to arriving in the convention area. The dates that you may participate in this program are June 21 through June 29, 2003.  CLICK HERE TO SEE INFORMATION ON SOME OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION YEAR-ROUND AND SEASONAL EVENTS

Select the events that suit your particular circumstances, pre-register for them via mail, and leave the details to us! The Quick Start Program lets you select when and where you walk – maps, start cards, walk brochures, and directions will be mailed to you before you leave for the convention. Complete the walk, then bring your start card and books to the convention headquarters from June 24 to June 27, 2003 or to the next convention event to turn your start card in and have your books stamped. There will be a Quick Start table at all the events, June 21-29, and in the convention headquarters (Doubletree World Arena Hotel) from 1 to 4 p.m. during the dates of June 24 – June 27, 2003.

For your convenience, and to reduce the administrative stress on the individual Year Round Start Points, you can pre-register for any or all of these 50 events in Wyoming and Colorado. Events are listed from north to south, along the I-25 Corridor.

Upon receipt of the Quick Start registration form and payment, you will receive by return mail a start card, directions and brochure for each event for which you have registered.

After completion of the events, you can bring your start card to that day’s convention walk, June 21 to 29, 2003, or to the convention hall from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. during the convention, June 24 to 27, to have your books stamped.

The cost of each event is $3.00 per person for AVA credit; however, some of the walks have awards that are not included in the credit only fee. If you desire an award, you will need to go to the start/finish location and pay the difference for the award. The additional mailing fees for event start cards, directions, and maps are as follows:

1 to 10 events $4.00
11 to 20 events $5.00
21 to 30 events $6.00
31 to 50 events $7.00

These fees are based on each mailing to a single address.
