Final designs for the 2003 AVA, “Rambling the Rockies” awards have been completed and sample awards have been produced. Created by a local Colorado Springs Company, there will be 12 awards (squares) that can be attached to a header piece, and to each other, with brass jump rings. A commemorative award will represent each of the 11 walking events. One award will be designed for the 2 swims with the second swim being credit only. The awards are laser cut, 3-inch by 3-inch squares of 1/4-inch thick solid cherry wood, sealed with a clear overcoat. Each award includes a picture/design of the event in the center of the square surrounded by the date, the name, and the location of the event.

The awards header piece is a 5-inch by 9-inch piece of 1/4-inch thick solid cherry wood, laser cut as a mountain scape, with the 2003 AVA Convention logo in the center with the convention date and specifics on each side. If all event awards are purchased, they will form a 9-inch by 12-inch rectangle under the header piece. There will be a leather strap attached to the header for hanging. The variations in natural wood color and grain lend a unique quality to the beauty of the awards. Each event award is beautiful on its own merits, but in combination with 11 other squares, it becomes a study in color, definition and contrast. The extent of the laser work on each award crates an interesting patchwork of detail, silhouette, and definition.

Everyone will be pleased and satisfied with the detail and the workmanship of each individual event award. When all awards are attached to the header, you will have a beautiful memory of your 2003 convention participation, that you will be proud to display.

The cost for the event awards and header is listed on the Convention Registration form. Participants who pre-register for the Total Meeting Package will receive a discount on their awards purchase.
