SCOTTSVILLE Julian Eugene Skaggs, 68, of Scottsville died Dec. 6, 1999, at The Medical Center.
The Indianapolis native was a Navy veteran, a retired Whayne Supply employee and a member and deacon of Scottsville Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Willie Dickey Skaggs and Ruby Rice Skaggs.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at T.W. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Sexton Skaggs; two daughters, Kathy Skaggs and Kristi Pardue, both of Scottsville; a son, Kevin Skaggs of Bowling Green; and five grandchildren.
BROWNSVILLE Kenneth H. Skaggs, 80, of Brownsville died at 2:19 a.m. Aug. 13, 2000, at his home.
The Steephollow native was an area resource manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church and Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge No. 355, F & A.M. He was a son of the late Noah Skaggs and Elizabeth McCrady Skaggs.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Patton Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Union Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Houchin Skaggs; three daughters, Janice Sue Skaggs Edwards and Sherry Lynn Lakofka, both of Bowling Green, and Sheri-gaye Stockdale of Brownsville; three brothers, Warner Skaggs and James Skaggs, both of Louisville, and Donald Skaggs of Fairborne, Ohio; two sisters, Blanche Demunbrum of Glasgow and Lillian Whittle of Louisville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
BROWNSVILLE Pauline Skaggs Lyons, 88, of Auburn died at 9:30 a.m. March 10, 2000, at Logan Memorial Hospital.
The Auburn native was a homemaker and a member of Campbells Chapel United Baptist Church in Louisville. She was a daughter of the late Maxie Skaggs and Naomi Brown Skaggs and wife of the late M.O. Lyons.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Patton Funeral Home with burial in Kinser Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a sister, Irene Grogan of Auburn; three nephews; and a niece.
BROWNSVILLE Rondle Mason Skaggs, 69, of Indianapolis died May 1, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
The Edmonson County native was a Korean Conflict Army veteran and a member of Millersville Lodge No. 126 F. & A.M., American Legion Askins Saw Post No. 355 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Greenwood Memorial Post No. 5864. He was a son of the late James Thomas Skaggs and Nancy Elizabeth Hogan Skaggs.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fountain Square Mortuary in Indianapolis with burial at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hogan Cemetery in Edmonson County. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Patton Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Catherine Katie Kenney of Indianapolis.
MUNFORDVILLE Carrie L. Skaggs, 92, of Munfordville died at 3 p.m. Sept. 24, 2000, at a Horse Cave nursing home.
The Hardin County native was a homemaker and a member of Munfordville Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late James Lawson and Martha Jane Hart Lawson and the wife of the late Raymond Skaggs.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hawkins-Brooks Funeral Home with burial in Elizabethtown Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include a son, Raymond Skaggs Jr. of Louisville; a daughter, Lillian Sego of Bowling Green; a brother, Clifford Lawson of Louisville; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Death of Mrs. Eaton
Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N.F. Martin, Friday, February 26,1915, Mrs. Sarah J. Eaton, after a serious illness of ten days with pneumonia. She was borned in Washington County, May 30,1855 making her 59 years, 8 months and 26 days old. She joined the Baptist Church in her young days and was a devoted Christian all her life. Many are the kind deeds done by her which will gain her a Starry Crown. She was married to Thos. J. Skaggs in May 1873 to which union eight chldren were born. Three of whom survive as follows: Mrs. N.F.Martin and Osa Skaggs of this place, and M.C.Skaggs of Depew, Oklahoma. All were present at the funeral. Her husband died in 1887. She again married in the year 1892 to S.S.Eaton. He died in 1899 leaving her a widow again, and has remained so since in 1912 she brought her aged father here and took care of him until death parted them January 16,1915. Her daughter, Mrs.S.N.Eaton, died November 22,1914 leaving an infant son to the care of others, and aunt Sarah took him into her home to care for him until God said "Well done thou good and faithful servant" and called her home where she will feel no more pain and know no more sorrow. She had 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her remains were laid to rest in the Shoal Creek Cemetery on Shoal Creek by her father on Sunday, February 28,1915. Among those from here who attended the funeral were: Mr.and Mrs.N.F.Martin, Mr and Mrs.O.B.Wilson, Mr and Mrs. Osa Skaggs, Mr.and Mrs. A.E.Eaton, Sarah Trash, Milford Skaggs, Carl and Lena Martin, Mr and Mrs. G.B.Martin, and Seldon Eaton.

Milford Skaggs. She was married to Nathan Franklin Martin.
Her daughter, Mrs. S.N. Eaton, was Ollie Skaggs Eaton. She was married to
Seldon Eaton.
She was married to Albert L Skaggs Jr. on Aug. 31, 1940, who survives.
Other survivors includes one son and two daughters, Kerry Skaggs of
Louisville, Nancy DeWeese and Glenda Cochrane, both of Mobile, Ala.; three
sisters, Emma Hunt and Exie Trumbo, both of Wyanet and Minnie Anderson of
Walnut; and 10 grandchildren, Mike Phillips, Jill Wilson, Tracey Phillips,
Randa Avery, Jamie Bond, Stephen Cochrane, Paul Cochrane, Danielle Skaggs,
Leslie Skaggs and Tracii Johns.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Lynn Skaggs; and one
great-granddaughter, Angel Johns.
Squire Scaggs
Squire Scaggs died at Ceredo on the 8th inst., at the home of his son Clark Scaggs, at the age of 94 years. He was born in Lawrence County, KY., in 1817, and moved to Brush Creek in this county, just before the beginning of the Civil War. He enlisted in the army at its inception and fought during the four years that tried men's souls, and made a valiant soldier in the cause which he advanced. He had the honor of fighting under Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee. He was with Stonewall Jackson in the battle of Chancellorsville, and witnessed his death on the field. He participated in the hard fought combat at Gettysburg, and helped to swell the ranks of Lee in Virginia. After the war he settled on Beech Fork where he lived until a few years prior to his death
