COS
The Island Ubarate

As usual for the City States of Gor , Cos supports a training academy for warriors and soldiers. Some traditions of AOL Gor are inherently unrealistic. The aspect of creating a character for Gor, a warrior who technically should already know how to be a warrior for example, but must apply to a caste. In these cases for the sake of realism, Cos will assume that any new warrior SN that claims to support Ubar Lurius and Cos (and hopefully claims to be Cosian born and bred), is of the caste and will be treated as such. the papers of registration will then be considered simply induction papers to the military archives of Cos. The papers will then be sent to the the RRAmc and any others that might exist at this point. This process will be a priority in Cos as more and more the validity of one persons role play seems to rely more on whether they have gone through the red tape and buearcracy of registering with what are basicly Out of Character organizations devised to create dice rules. While this author may not approve of such things, one of the primary missions of Cos is to create a non devisive platform, where ALL the people of AOL Gor can cooperate in a spirit of "Fair Play." The ethics and courtesies of roleplay have been in practice since the earliest days of MUSH and MOO and IRC and are so widely accepted that they can be considered common sense in most cases. Unfortunately many people on AOL have forgotten that and it is our hope that we in Cos can lead by example.

Another hope of Cosian roleplay is that a grander style of Role play can be made in Cos. Currently wars and fighting and such amount to months of talk about who is worth killing. These talks usually revolve around the actions of one mun against another at this point. Then certain people will get together, create a dozen or so brand new Sn's that they do not mind killing, wait till they can see their enemy is unsupported and despite any realism, (city walls, inaccuracy in the geography of Gor). Hop over and attack him. Then somewhere in the middle of the ten minute "fight" where the most eloquent writing is usuallly "shoots at so and so" someone will roll out of order or someone will proclaim, you can't use those dice blah blah, and then someone will call so and so's mun a child or boy and , well you have probably seen this.

The point here is that we in Cos believe that is not fun, and in fact, is very very unrealistic. After all. if some one decided that the tiny city of "not a city", basicly described in hunters as a logging town, seemed a good place to go and they had 40 muns to play there and Ar had 5, would that make their city more powerful then Ar?

Regarding
Cos

Some of you who are reading this may be aware of it already but, Darrious Kril decided during the third and fourth week of building Cos that, because he had many more Sn's then Cos did, that he would simply write an email and kill my Sn's and Sl's. Believe me, this comment here is about as bitter as I got over it. I compiled the emails, sent them and a humorous series of comments to all the admins and Ubars I knew, asking for their acceptance and thus rejection of Darrious's claims and the response was unanimous! Although I did get some constructive critisism that I duly deserved, more then enough of it actually pertaining to grammar then I care to mention. The letters are posted here. I could have easily backed down over this but I am glad i did not. Apparently far too many people have let this player stomp on their Sl's and I feel vindicated. COS RULES! ::laughter::
