SWING! CAST ALBUM RELEASED BY
SONY CLASSICAL ON JANUARY 25

Swing!, the original Broadway cast recording, will be released by Sony Classical records on Tuesday, January 25.

Called "a delightfully raucous, funny, frisky and seductive new musical extravaganza" by Liz Smith, Swing! opened at the St. James Theatre (246 W. 44th Street) on December 9 to rave reviews. Swing! is directed and choreographed by Lynne Taylor-Corbettand supervised by four-time Tony Award-winner Jerry Zaks. Jeffrey Lyons of NBC-TV said "Swing! has the most amazing dancing Broadway has seen inyears."

The vocalists of Swing! include Ann Hampton Callaway, Everett Bradleyand Laura Benanti, with Casey MacGill. In addition to many original songs, several of which are written by Callaway, Bradley and MacGill, Swing! features classic tunes such as "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "Harlem Nocturne," "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," "Jumpin' at theWoodside," "Sing, Sing, Sing!," "Stompin' at the Savoy" and "Blues in the Night."

Swing! is an all-singing, all-dancing musical celebration that features world-class swing dancers, a hot contemporary swing band and acclaimed jazz/pop singers, all cutting loose to a mix of new and classic swingsongs. The show features over 30 dance numbers that reflect the currentneo-swing dances sweeping the country today, embracing West Coast,Country-Western, Latin and Traditional Swing dancing. Driving the entire show is the dynamic sound of The Gotham City Gates.

The original cast recording of Swing! will be featured on Sony Classical's website, an online resource for exploring the label's entire catalogue of recordings. Sound clips, track listings, cover art and further information about the cast album will be available.
