Casey rolled over and groaned. Her head was killing her. She slowly opened her eyes to see Jane sitting in the chair next to her bed, frowing at her. Casey sat up but then fell back down again.
"What are you doing in here?" She asked and Jane stood up.
"Get up. I imagine your heard hurts and your lip is pretty swollen but that's the price you pay for getting in a fight. Hurry up and get downstairs, I am going to have a talk with you and Nick so hurry up." She walked briskly out the door and Casey slowly got out of her bed.
Her whole body ached. From her hair all the way down to her toes. She walked into the bathroom and looked up in the mirror. She looked like shit. Her hair was all over, her cheek was black and blue from Nick's slapping her and her lip was huge. Not just a little swollen, this thing was HUGE!
Casey groaned and looked around for something to cover up her face with. But she had nothing. She didn't wear a lot of make up so she didn't really have anything to put over her bruise. She brushed her hair, slowly because her arm hurt. Then she walked out of the room and down the stairs.
When she entered the kitchen, Jane was sitting at the table, Nick was across from her with his arms folded and a scowl on his face like he really didn't want to be there. His face had a bruise where she had punched him but since she wasn't as strong as Nick, his bruise wasn't nearly as big as hers.
"Hello Casey." Jane greeted with an edge to her voice. Nick looked up and his eyes widened at the color of her face, as if he didn't know he had done that much to her.
"Hey." She answered slowly before going to the cabinet looking for some advil. Well, she was actually looking for any type of pain reliever. She finally found some tylenol and plopped three in her mouth. The normal amount was two but she hurt so much she figured that one extra pill wouldn't kill her.
Casey finally sat down at the table, across from Nick. She crossed her arms, as Nick had,and slumped in her chair to prove that she really didn't want to be there.
"I'm sure you two both know why I have you here." Jane began and looked at both of them. "Now I am giving you each time to explain your side of the story so I dan know exactly what the hell happened this morning. Nick, you go first and Casey, you are not to interupt him. You'll have your turn in a minute."
Casey groaned and and Nick smirked at her. He took a breath and began to tell his side of the story. "Well, I was walking by Casey's room when Aj and her were talking and I heard him say something about her sneaking out to meet him last night. I tried to stop her, but of course, her being the stubborn bitch that she is--"
"I am not!" Casey yelled indignantly.
"Casey please don't interupt Nick, you'll have your turn. Nick, please refrain from saying things like that from now on." Nick nodded and continued.
"But, since Casey doesn't like to listen, she went anyway. At about 2:00 in the morning, Casey still wasn't home so I went into her room to wait for her. I was a little worried ya know? And then I guess I fell asleep at her window cause the next thing I know, Casey wakes me up, high and saying things to piss me off. Which of course worked, making me slap her and the she hit back, and well, that's where you came in mom."
"Okay, thank you Nick. Casey do you have anything to say?" They both turned to look at Casey.
"Well, basically all he said." Jane nodded and looked at the two of them sternly.
"I am not happy with the way things are turning out here. Casey, we sent you down here so you could lead a happier life, stop the drugs, get a job and make a name for yourself. And, well, that doesn't seem to be happening. Casey, I do not appreciate you sneaking out in the middle of the night to go do drugs. Or just sneaking off for that matter. By doing that you are not following the rules that Bob and I have set for you. And then coming home high? And Nick, whatever were you thinking hitting a girl?? I thought I taught you better than that! But I guess not. I thought that Casey coming down here would make both of you thrilled to see eachother. You two were the best of friends and I don't see why you two hate eachother so much."
Casey scoffed. "Nick is the one that left me for eight years while he was off becoming famous and forgetting all about me."
"I did not!! I was just persuing my dream. You told me to follow my dream Casey and that's what I did!"
"Yeah and forgot about me in the process."
"I did not."
"Then why didn't you ever contact me?"
"I did!"
"Yeah, you called me ONCE and that was the week before I left for California."
"You never gave me a chance to explain."
"Explain what? How you were too damn stupid to pick up a phone and dial seven digits?!?"
"No! You don't even know what it was like."
"You're right, I don't! And I don't want to know. Because the day that you left for that tour, you left my life and lost my friendship. And let me tell you something Blondie, you will NEVER be getting it back." She yelled and stormed up to her room.
