COASTERnet - Coasters - Volcano: the Blast Coaster
After years of building up pressure, Volcano announced its presence with a rumble in 1998 as the only coaster in the world to shoot you straight out of a raging volcano! Inverted below the yellow track, Volcano rolls out of the station around a small turn before the Linear Snycronist Motors (a slight variation to LIM's) kick in launching riders from zero to 74 miles per hour in a matter of seconds! Riders blast down a tunnel and encounter a heavily banked turn leading to a second set of LSMs. Speeding through a cavern inside the mountain, passengers blast straight out the top of the mountain! Once over the top of the loop out the top, a panoramic view of the park is offered before the first of 3 Heartline Spins, twisting either in or out of themselves until a final 80-foot dive finishes off the ride. From beginning to end, Volcano is a blast!
