Gaghiel is the 8th angel and the only underwater Angel that looks like a fish. He can swim very fast in the water because his body structure is very near to normal fish. He doesn't have any special scientific ability at all and his only weapon is his large and sharp teeth. Gaghiel is a very special Angel because his red core is hidden in his mouth.

Normally, Angel can generate A.T.Field but in Episode 8, Gaghiel doesn't generate A.T.Field to protect himself in the battle with EVA-02. Although we can't determine the strength of his A.T.Field but we know that he has a strong jaw. If Asuka and Shinji don't achieve a new synchronization rate, EVA-02 will be cut into two. Maybe Gaghiel is the weakest among all Angels.
