Kensuke Aida is friends with Shinji and Touji. Kensuke and Touji seem to like Misato very much and they both hope that they can live together with this beutiful woman one day. Like Shinji and Touji, his mother died when he was very young. Kensuke would really like to become a Eva pilot, but, he wasn't given any opportunity. He owns a video camera which he takes with him everywhere. His father is an officer at NERV, so he's able to get some information regarding Angel attack's and Eva activity.

Kensuke's home was destroyed when EVA-00 self destructed. Therefore, he was forced to move to another city, away from Tokyo-3.
