Arael is the 15th Angel that come to challenge humanity. He is the second Angel which can stay in the space and does attacking jobs. Arael looks like a bird and his body has bright light same as Adam.

Normally, Angel's jobs is attacking NERV Headquarter in order to return to Adam. But Arael don't seem to have any intention in attacking NERV. Arael doesn't have any other special weapons that can attack NERV but he has an ability which is telepathy attack.

Arael can generate some visible light which can do telepathy attack. The A.T.Field of Arael is not very strong as Sahaquiel. Since it stays in high space and EVA can't approached him, so Spear of Longinus has been taken out from Lilith's body to attack him.
