Ford Super Stallion
The Super Stallion is equipped with, get this, a supercharged 5.4-liter four-valve DOHC V-8 engine. Built at Ford's Windsor Ontario plant and modified by SVE, this monster motor produces 590-hp at 6,000 rpm and 497 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,750 rpm. This gives the Super Stallion a top speed of 175 mph, a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.7 seconds @ 112.8 mph! The engine also is capable of flex-fuel operation. It can run on gasoline, alcohol or a combination of the two. Carbon fiber accents adorn the exterior along with a new hood design with openings to allow greater airflow to the engine. All of the enhancements are carbon fiber, keeping the weight down. Inside, an on-board diagnostic system is mounted into the headliner and two gauges are imbedded into the A-pillar to monitor intake manifold vacuum/boost and fuel system pressure. The high-capacity 10 psi, clutch-activated, Garrett supercharger is "armed" by the driver with a switch mounted in the center stack area on the console. A six-speed Borg-Warner T56 with a multi-disk McLeod clutch system transfers power to the rear-end competition-style independent rear suspension.
The IRS's components are in a module mounted in the Super Stallion's trunk. These components are kept cool by functional air scoops placed where the rear quarter windows used to be. Up front the short/long arm suspension, that includes Koni double-adjustable shocks is an all-new SVE design that provides more negative camber during maximum turning
To bring all this power to a stop, the Super Stallion features racing style four wheel disc brakes. It has ABS with eight piston, four pad Brembo calipers in front and 4 piston, 2 pads each on the back. the front disc measure 13 inches in front and 12 inches in back. To keep this car on the road, SVE used Goodyear F1 GS Fiorano's mounted on 18 inch 3 piece Aliseo aluminum wheels. These tires, 245/35ZR18 on the front and 265/40ZR18 on the rear, are rated at 210 mph.
The interior of the Super Stallion features new bucket seats, developed by Lear. The lightweight front seats are adjustable eight ways and have extended travel and a feature called Dynamic Seat Bolsters. This system holds the occupants only when the vehicle is cornering or maneuvering. The bolsters retract for easy entry and exit of the car. The interior also features a Mach 630-watt radio/CD unit from Visteon Automotive Systems consisting of two amplifiers, center-image speaker in the dash, 2.5-inch speakers in the A-pillar sails, 5.5-inch by 7.5-inch woofers in the doors, three subwoofers and two mid-range tweeters.
