In fall or winter 97 five crazy fellows from Vienna, Austria, decided to start up a band. We all played in other bands before but for some reason or another all of these bands broke up. Tom, Danny and Robert played in BREATHE before and after the split of BREATHE they knew that they wanted to form a new band. They asked a local loco, Mario (who played in THE UNLOVED), to play the bassguitar and another weirdo called Joerg (still in FALLTIME and MANFACE), to play the second guitar. Robert changed to the drums... After rehearsing for three or four months Joerg left the band because of some personal reasons (too little time; school, girlfriend, other bands,...). He is still a very good friend of us and they often hang out together! We found a new guitarist in Georg (still in MAR, his main band). Danny is also in FALLTIME, if you care. After the line-up change we started writing songs for our demo which was released in July 1998. None of us members expected what happened then! The demo sold about 800 copies... Yeah, that may seem not so much but indeed it was much more than we thought we would sell. A real dedicated dude from the netherlands, Johan, asked us if he could get three songs of the demo for a 7" compilation. Johan does a fanzine and runs a small label (both called REFLECTIONS) along with his girlfriend Susan. This 7" was finally released in November 1998 together with issue #11 of the fanzine. So far, so good... We played our first show ever in July 1998 at a small HC fest in Immenhausen, Germany. We were the first band to play and nobody had ever heard a single tone of us (except some kids from our hometown who also got to this festival). We were pretty nervous and the show wasnīt really good but yet the crowd liked the stuff we played. A german friend of us (Sebastian of HIGHSCORE, who runs LA FAMILIA RECORDS) came up to us and asked us to record a 7" for him. We were grateful and agreed. H-STREET played some other shows (...and way better ones in comparison to their first gig) all over europe (hungary, germany, netherlands, austria (of course!)) and began to write some new material for some compilations and the debut 7". This 7" is out now (May 1999) and can be purchased at your local recordstore (haha, not really!). Contact GREEN HELL RECORDS in germany or ask Sebastian ( schlutv@uni-muenster.de ) about distributors in your country. Donīt hesitate to contact us if you wanna ask some questions... Thank you for surfing in! Check out our releases if you dig fast, melodic, intense, old-fashioned HC!
