ARE YOU A GOOD SINGER or MUSICIAN?

I'm an experienced guitarist/songwriter with 100's of completed, marketable, original songs. I can sing & play some of this by myself, but having a SINGER with a really *great* voice & stage presence & a BASSIST, DRUMMER or possibly KEYBOARDIST, would be better.

If you're a singer who's only availble to record when you have the time, that's fine. As a band we'd start by playing locally, gradually integrating the original songs with the cover repertoire (if you want to play in bars, it's good to do at least 70% covers). Once we're tight: go on tour, open for established acts, do showcases, approach record companies & release a CD.

PREREQUISITES: More than anything, you should be willing to put the effort into becoming a better musician. That means having the confidence & discipline to make sacrifices in your personal life & making the time to put music above other distractions.

  • Be able to learn parts precisely & quickly by ear (alone), with minimum rehearsals.
  • Be available to play live on weekends. Or to record without time constraints.
  • Have a minimum of five years stage (live performing) experience.

  • If you're involved with other bands or projects, then why are you reading this?
  • If you have a spouse or kids, will you be able to devote time to playing?
  • You should be finished school & be over 21 years of age, to play in bars.

    Tell me what artists you like & who your style resembles, your experience, music goals, age, location & *A LIST OF SONGS THAT YOU'VE PERFORMED* - Must be willing to travel to Cornwall for rehearsals - Though most shows will be in the Montreal or Ottawa area.

    SINGERS:
    Must be have a *strong* clear voice, pleasant tone & be able to easily maintain a good higher vocal register (no falseto). Having a confident stage presence, being energetic & in good shape (slim) are also important. Interested & able to sing in one (or more) of the following styles...

  • POP/ROCK: HEART, AMANDA MARSHALL, MELISSA ETHERIDGE,
  • ROCK: JOURNEY, FOREIGNER, BONJOVI, LED ZEPPELIN, U-2, STING,
  • ALTERNATIVE: GARBAGE, MEREDITH BROOKS, CONCRETE BLONDE,
  • POP: MARIAH CAREY, CELINE DION, SPICE GIRLS, CHAKA KHAN,
  • NEWAGE: SARAH BRIGHTMAN, CIRQUEduSOLIEL SARAH McGLAGHLAN,
  • NEW COUNTRY: SHANIA TWAIN, FAITH HILL,

    If you're a beginner with an obvious talent & ambition, I'll be willing to listen to you...

    MUSICIANS:
    Should be over 30 years old & can sing harmony. Be tight & precise, have a good sense of dynamics, play set parts as on the CD, but also be able to improvise. No grunge or metal fans.



    NEED AN EXPERIENCED GUITARIST?

    I'm a guitarist with over 20-yrs stage & studio experience. Excellent arrangement & improvisational abilities. Very creative, fast learner, able to get on stage with minimal rehearsals. Good at singing harmony & solid on lead vocals, covers &/or originals.

    Styles: from Classic Rock to recent Pop/Rock, Funk, R&B, Blues, light Jazz.
    Large female vocal repertoire. Good sense of dynamics. Drug free & sober.
    Not into doing anything too aggressive/heavy, or with screaming or rap in it.

    I'm near Cornwall, in south-eastern Ontario, an hour from Montreal & Ottawa.
    Willing to relocate for any serious projects, as long as it pays to do so.
