Verbal Effects (A list of phrases and statements made or common verbal themes.)

1992-1996

One of the first thing I heard them say was, "She hears us." They didn't seem to actively try to communicate with me at that time. They simply commented on what I said and did in a very sarcastic manner.

July 1996

Their manner changed abruptly. I started feeling unpleasant physical sensations in July 1996. They started being more vocal, yet they still weren't talking TO me.

January 1998-1999

Apparently someone new came on the scene. A new voice kept saying, "She's an asshole." I kept hearing references to "a psychiatrist." The first thing I hear in the morning when I wake are their voices.

Some things they said at this point:

At first, when I thought about telling people about them they said, "Who's going to believe you?" Now they say, "Shhh" as if they're daring me to go public.

"The psychiatrist is trying to help you!"

"How come she did that?" or "Why does she do it that way?" Then they'll answer themselves, "God knows!"

"Why is she so childish/naive/stupid when you're on?" I'm used to their name calling by now. The key words are "when you're on." They make it sound as if they take turns on the computer.

"She responds to you." "She responds to the psychiatrist." "How come she doesn't respond to you?"

They've said they're the FBI or the OSBI (Okla. State Bureau of Investigation).

When I get angry because of something they've done, they'll say, "Why did she turn off her anger so fast?" and my mood will change accordingly, without my being able to control it.

They comment negatively on everything I say, do or think. They try to tell me what to do, when to do it, how to do it, etc.
