Barnabas Collins
This is a page dedicated to the ever great
Johnathan Frid who played the best Vampire of
his time, "Barnabas Collins"
Barnabas Collins is an Ages old Vampire. He
has lived in the same house at Collinwood for
many years telling all that he is a long
distance salesman, entrepenuer. He is over
200 years old. He has out lived all of his
ancestors. He is still haunted by the witch
Angelique who is the cause of his affliction.
Here are some pics I have captured from the
series.
Barnabas has had to endure many vampire
hunters. Barnabas' one love, Josette killed
herself because she thought Barnabas was
dead. Barnabas is always seeking her
incarnate, hopeful that one day she will come
back to him.
Collinwood was in disrepair and the new
generation built the new mansion. Barnabas
continues to stay at the old Mansion with
Wiley Lumis as the grounds keeper and the
crypt keeper as well. He is to make sure no
one interupts the sleeping vampire.
Barnabas is a mystical presense in the
household, only appearing after dusk, hense
the salesman, entrepenuer facade.
Johnathan Frid plays this magnificant
character that held the hearts of many
viewers, I was one of those. Mezmerised by
his glance. He still holds captives today as
his memorabilia sells on auctions for
hundreds of dollars. The famous wolf'shead
cane, the famous oval onyx, bloodstone ring.
Where is Jonathan Frid today? He went back to
theater after the series ended. The series
was ended because the writers had nowhere to
go. Witches, Vampires, Zombies, Werewolves.
Past and Present had been covered. The past
and present of all the characters. Adam was
made from Barnabas' being. A creature as
Frankenstein, made from other people.
Dr. Julia Hoffman tried to bring Barnabas
back to human existence and mortal being. But
she never got it right. He would become a
very old man in one experiment, his full 200
years!
Dark Shadows still shows on the Sci-Fi
channel.
