SAVED AIR BASE ASSAULT PRACTICE MAPS AND CUSTOM ABA MAPS BY CARGO

The biggest fall back of A.B.A i guess, is the humiliation of getting your ass kicked repeatedly for sometime, before you win. This is because Air Base Assault does not come as an offline option. Therefor none of us get to practice it, before we come online. Air Base Assault pilots cannot just go off line to practice can they? The best they can actually simulate is their dropping of bombs, and thats about it.When we do start getting it right, it's a constant learning process. We learn the fualts of bases, some of them are notorious, such as Blue East in Korea. But we don't discover this until either we bomb someone off using one plane, or we get bombed off by one plane alone. Or whether we are in a bad position strategically wise (choosing bases).

Well, it's happened a couple of times to me, where a disconnect happens in an aba, leaving me at the map, not connected to anyone, where I have saved the map. But naturally I never did this constantly so i never was able to upload it. Recently I came across files compiled by the 42nd MDP, and the 22nd squads. Saved aba maps, for every decent map there is. You can fly about in them, choose your weapons (unfortunately not your plane, although there is a way around this - through the pro-mission creator). The benifits to us guys is enourmous! We can sus out target placement by flying over these areas, and getting a feel for them outside multiplayer play. You can see which bases are the best to pick, and you can practice your weapon selection, and 'bomb blast zones'. This is GREAT! Practice wiping out one base with an f-111 or f-15E. It all can be done. Used in conjuntion with the Maps provided on site here, you can write down the best bases to choose, or simply circle them. Either Way, it's great for getting your first plane tactics going well. Certainly a valuable if not, the best source of Training - next to the real thing - possibly, and I think so, the best you'll get offline. Maybe if I get the time I'll tinker with the Pro-mission creator, so you guys can choose your planes, or end scenario conditions or whatever. For the moment I doubt that however.
