"Employment" Day 153 Two more days had passed for Geist, and the change had been remarkable. The Inn owner had finally gotten around to charging him, steeply, and Geist had found himself a hermit. None of those involved with the underworld would speak with him. But he had managed to overhear rumors of Spyre agents stalking around. These were rumors of heresy, Geist was positive of that, but he was still being kept clear of, and that bothered him. He wondered if he'd gone about it the wrong way. He never had trouble getting assignments back at the Sword's Edge base, but then again he hadn't had much choice either. Getting a job in the city was harder and Geist was frustrated. His questions were finally answered when he decided to take his frustrations out on an unsuspecting Gel dealer, whom he tried to beat his answers out of. He hadn't had any luck, until a small group of armed men appeared behind him and told him to let the dealer go. Geist complied, and followed them to the man who was apparently their leader. He was a tall man with dark skin. "I hear your looking for employment," said the man looking Geist up and down. "Maybe. What's it to you?" Geist replied with a cocky smirk on his face. "What it is to me is that this is my town. I handle any and all jobs that come through here," the man cracks a bit of a smile, "For a modest fee of course." "Of course...and you brought me here why?" "Right to the point aren't you? You're lucky that I like that. I brought you here to offer you a job." That statement caused Geist's eyebrow to raise slightly, "Oh really." "Yes, really," says the man as one of his cohorts produces a small wooden box. "I need a delivery made to New Rolin City done in the next week. The contents of this box are to be given to a woman named Minx. She will be staying at the Moonrise Inn." "A delivery? If you wanted an errand-boy why didn't you hire one of the local kids?" Geist asked. The man chuckled. "Let's just say that if the errand-boy was stopped by Spyre on his way and the contents were found out it would be....bad for the errand boy. Besides, I don't pay errand boys 5000 talics for their deliveries." Geist blinked at the sum "I see...what's in it?" "That is none of your business. And I wouldn't open it either if I were you, Minx will know if you have. And if she reports to me that you've opened it that would also be bad for the errand boy. Now do we have a deal?" "Oh I think we do, but first I'd like to know the name of the man I'm working for." The man grinned again, "Of course. You may call me Slade."
