faces in the sand faces in the sand

standing
...alone
desert on all sides
no one for miles
no comfort
cold, hard, black
turning at the
slightest provocation
-for help-
but none comes
screaming for someone
[anyone]
open mouth empties out
the lungs
unleash a horrible
wretched
shriek
of silence - agony
nobody hears
nobody listens
watch the faces
in the sand
coming close
so benevolent
but the scream
scares them off
the closer they come
the louder the scream
that no one hears
the deafening silence
overwhelming emptiness
left without the answers
running out of air
no where left to run
the darkness closes in
the faces fade away
a hand protrudes
from the earth
and slowly pulls away
and everything collapses
in a burst of light
that i once enjoyed
but have now handed over
to a (friend)
