i watch
as she moves
towards me
away from me
every motion she makes
every gesture
every breath
is a gift to me
from God
she is a gift
and her existence
is a blessing
i watch her
watching me
and i know
the emotions
that lie behind
her smile
i know the story
behind every tear
that she sheds
her past is
a dark cloud
but it makes
my heart smile
to know
that i am her
ray of sunshine
i know
that she loves
the person
she becomes
when she is with me
i know
that i love
who i am
when we're together
and i know
she knows
we know
that we'll be together
for a long long time
