What Will Donald Trump Do?
2. Gov’t revenue: Tariffs – really? Will angering the world against the US and re-invoking the dangers of the same thing done to blow up the Great Depression really make things better? Lower taxes: Do the loyal Trumpers really believe that lowering taxes for the wealthy makes things better for the middle class (or those lower)? Good grief. When will the fairy tales ever end?
3. Immigrants – they fill lots of needed jobs. How will the economy fare without them?
The numbers from specialists don’t bode well … but then, Trump enthusiasts don’t want numbers; they want screams and conspiracies … UNTIL they start seeing what happens in the grocery and department stores.
4. What about the wealth gap? Real median household income was $80,610 in 2023. MONTHLY increases for Bezos – $15 billion; Zuckerberg – $18 billion; Musk – $6 billion. Etc.
5. National debt – about 1/5 of the current national debt originated with Trump’s 1st term.
Can he raise it even more? How can he NOT? He has promised the Moon (and Mars).
It’s easy, too. Many Magas remember fondly of the ‘good times’ from DonDon’s first term, where he just borrowed from our grandchildren and grand-grandchildren to give people their fairyland dreams of prosperity without having to invest or educate or deal with the real situation on our planet.
6. Cutting Gov’t spending? Where? Education? – then you just have to have the private sphere pick up the charges. It won’t be cheaper. We’re in the 21st century; it’s not the ‘3 R’s’ of the 19th century. Quality assurance? – do you really mean that we don’t need or want to know that the food that we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe is safe? Military? – Trump only proposes a stronger military, thank goodness, for places like Ukraine where our enemies have attacked. Media? – we are (not yet) a totalitarian state and the government is not paying for this. The ‘Deep State’? – where is it?
Waste? – Felon 47 just fired all the inspectors general that look after waste.
