Its intention being to enhance the lives of the visually impaired, by encouraging and organising social outtings, and also to provide advice, support, and information, not only to the visually impaired, but also to their families. friends as well as interested members of the public.

To celebrate our launch and to arouse local interest we held a 12 hour Pool-a-thon, at a Public house this was played by visually impaired members, as well as the general public. We invited the residents from nursing homes as well as elderly people from local sheltered housing, tea, coffee and a good old fashioned sing-a-long started the day. The evening was quite different, a prize quiz and a karaoke was enjoyed by everyone. Such was the success of the day that not only did the local newspaper, radio and television attend but we also managed to raise over £400 for a local children's charity V.I.C.T.A ( Visually Impaired Children Taking Action).

Since then Outlook has had many outings, which have included dances, cabaret, quizzes, day trips, disco's, tenpin bowling, fishing and country walks. membership is open to everyone in Swansea and its surrounding areas
