Amy Moyer, Region I Coordinator

School: Slippery Rock University
Major: Music Education
Instrument: Trumpet
Hometown: Wapwallopen, Pennsylvania
Description: I am a junior music education student at Slippery Rock University. Trumpet is my major instrument. I am very pleased with the music program at SRU and feel I am being very well prepared to teach. PCMEA and Mu Phi Epsilon are the two music organizations I'm involved with. I am a member of the SRU Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Brass Ensemble. I was in the Marching Band my first two years at SRU. I love being with children, whether it is in a music setting or not. I work at a day care center over the summer. When I'm at SRU, one of the things I miss the most is daily contact with kids. I enjoy volley ball and tennis when I have time to play. I also enjoy going to our cabin to get away from the hectic life at school. I am 250 miles from home, which can be good and bad. Wapwallopen is in Eastern PA, about 2 hours north of Harrisburg. I grew up there and very much enjoy going home.

Goals for PCMEA: I am very much looking forward to an exciting and successful year for PCMEA!!! Getting more involved with the other universities in Region I and getting Slippery Rock's chapter of PCMEA more active are two of my biggest goals. We all can contribute something in our own chapter to make it more productive and rewarding. I also think being more involved with the districts at the high school level would be a great experience for everyone involved!!!
