Marcus Anicius Gallus

This gentleman is the earliest known Anicii mentioned in history that I have discovered so far. He is cited in the Annals of Pighius as serving as a Tribune of the Plebs in 247 BC. Aside from this mention, I have been unable to learn anything else about him.

Although I have no genealogical information about him, he represents one of two mentions of an Anicii clan using the name 'Gallus.' This may mean that he was related to the L. Anicius L. f. Ln. Gallus who served as consul in 160 BC. However, this is admittedly merely speculation as it is true that over a hundred years seperate these two persons.
