Paths of Enlightenment

Although Sabbat vampires don't consider themselves human, they do possess their own morality and spirituality, hence the development of the Paths of Enlightenment. These paths serve as ethical and spiritual guidelines to vampires wishing to understand and cope with their existence. These Paths keep the Beast from completely ruling members of the Sabbat. Devotees of a given Path follow a rigid code of conduct and study the philosophy of their chosen Path. Paradoxically, strict adherence to the Paths allows members of the Sabbat to maintain their free will and keep the Beast at bay.

There are seven unique Paths currently in practice: the Path of Caine, the Path of Cathari, the Path of Death and the Soul, the Path of Evil Revelations, the Path of Harmony, the Path of Honorable Accord, and the Path of Power and the Inner Voice. The sect treats all Paths as equals(except for the Path of Evil Revelations). Each Path recognizes different traits that should be nurtured in order for a Sabbat to become a vampire in mind as well as body. While each Path may have similarities to others, each is distinct. The moral codes may contain some of the same traits, but the importance is not on which moral traits are of value, but how much they are valued. Each Path of Enlightenment is based upon a distinct foundation, but they all represent methods by which the vampire can transcend mortal morality and spirituality.
