"I do." He said and slipped the ring on her finger. "You may kiss the bride." The minister said. They kissed. This was the best moment in Melanie's life and she was sure Scott was just as happy as her. She knew they'd be together forever. And now she was finally Melanie Robinson.
Jac

"C'mon Jac, our plane is about to leave." Nikki said. "Just a minute Nikki." Jacqui looked around one last time. She and Nikki were moving to Florida together. When Nikki had first suggested it, it had seemed like a cool idea; leaving England and the past behind, starting a new life in America. But now she wasn't so sure. "Jacqui, ya coming?" Well it was now or never. She picked up her luggage and followed Niki onto the plane...

Amber and Abs:
Amber
This was one of the best years of Amber's life. She was going out with Abs, and they'd just had a beautiful baby girl together, named Isabelle. "Amber?" Abs asked. She'd forgotten all about him, sitting next to her playing with Isabelle. "I have to ask you something." He said in a serious tone. "Yeah?" "Well baby, you know I love you and we have Isabelle and most people in our situation are married or at least living together." He said. "And?" "Would you move in with me?" He asked. "Of course. Abs I love you!" She started kissing him. "Amber not in front of the baby." He said. "She's 5 months old, she doesn’t care what we do." She said. "You're right." He said and started kissing her again.

2 YEARS LATER
Steph
(*Some background info on what happened to Steph: She stayed in California and became a famous actress. She got married to a guy named Austin Hill who’s also an actor and they have a month old baby named Amanda Kate.*)
"So today they offered me the part in 'Killer 2'." Steph said. "I don't know if I should do it or not, I mean the first one was fun, but it takes up a lot of my time. Time that I could spend with you and Mandy Kate. And Mandy really needs a mom, she's only a month old but I could get them to start shooting later. What do you think?" "I don't know." Austin said. "Maybe you should take a break from movies, but not if you don't want to. If time is a problem we could get a babysitter for Mandy when she's old enough and I think you should just rest for now." "Maybe you're right. I think maybe I'll stay home for a few more months then go back to work." Steph said.

Melanie & Scott
Scott
"I can't believe it's gonna be a girl!" Melanie said. She was 6 months pregnant with their first child. "So what should we name her?" She said excitedly. "How about Remy? Or Romy?" Scott suggested. "those names are gross, what do ya think of Kirsten or Starlene." Mel said. "No, I don't really like those names." He replied. "Denise?" "Nah, too old fashioned." Scott said. "Courtney?" "sure,
Courtney's a pretty cool name, let's call her Courtney." Melanie agreed. "Great, we've decided on a name, now all we have to do is wait till Courtney comes into the world." Just then the phone rang. "Hello?" Mel answered. "Soon..." This creepy voice said and hung up. "Who was that?" Scott asked. "Just some dumb kids doing a prank call."

A MONTH LATER...
Melanie & Scott
Melanie
Melanie was in a great mood. She'd just gone shopping for some baby stuff. Courtney was due in exactly 2 months and seven days. Of course she could come any time, even right now, but that wasn't very likely. "Shit, the gas tank is empty." She said to herself as she drove. She still had about 20K to go until she got home, so she figured she might as well stop for gas. She pulled into the nearest gas station. Great, there was also a drug store there, she could really use some aspirin. She got out of the car and went inside the drug store. She was the only customer there. "May I help you?" The guy at the counter asked. "Yeah, I'd like a bottle of..."She was cut off by two guys in black ski masks with guns. "This is a robbery." One of the guys said. "Give us everything we're going to ask for or you and the lady die." The other said. "Oh my god." Mel said under her breath before she passed out.
She awoke later in a hospital bed. She looked around and saw a doctor leaning over her and a policeman sitting in the corner of the room. "Good she's awake." The police officer said. "Can I talk to you Melanie?" "Yeah, sure." She replied. "Do you remember what happened?" He asked. "Sure, I went in to buy some aspirin and these two guys came in and then everything went black. Where's Scott?" She asked. "We weren't able to get a hold of your husband but we're still trying." Said the doctor. "Melanie, what you're describing here is a very serious matter. We have a reason to believe that this crime has to do with a chain of criminals working across the country. I don't want to frighten you, but you could be in serious danger, because we also have reason to believe that this chain has to do with Michael Bondy." The officer explained. "Oh my god." Mel turned pale. Her dad had owned a big computer company and Michael Bondy was a man who had worked for her dad two years ago. Her dad had fired him and then he’d gone psycho and killed him. Actually he had been a criminal before he’d started working for her dad but nobody had known until it was too late. He had escaped from prison about six months ago and at first Melanie had a bodygaurd but after 3 months the police had assured her that Michael Bondy had gone out of the country and she was really glad, because all the bodygaurd stuff was annoying her. "Now we don't have any definite proof that it's him, but for you’re sake you have to be extra catious." He explained. "Have you gotten any threatning phone calls or felt like you were being followed lately?" "No, I don't think so..." she said. Then she remembered a few weeks ago. "Well I did get this call saying 'soon' and then the caller hung up but that was a while ago. And I'm pretty sure it was a prank call." "It might have been, but for you're sake, come to the police if you get anything that sounds life-threatning." The officer said. Just then Scott rushed in. "Mel baby, what's wrong?" He asked. "Don't worry, I'm ok Scott." She answered. "And Courtney?" "She's fine."
A MONTH LATER...
(*Mel had been getting more threatning phone calls over the past few months and she's convinced it isn't just some stupid kids. Also someone in a ski mask tried to kill her once but she was able to run away*)
She felt someone was following her. She looked behind her and didn't see anyone. But when she started walking again, she was sure she could see a shadow. She started to run, which was pretty hard considering she was 8 months pregnant. She remembered that horrible night when she'd been almost killed. The police had asked her if she'd be safer with a bodygaurd and she'd said no. Which was incredibly stupid of her, consiering she could've been killed. Well there was no time to think about it now, she just had to run. She punched 911 (*I have no idea what number is 911 in England so I'm using the american number*) in her cell phone and had her finger on send. She pressed send. "911 is this an emergency?" The operater asked. "I'm being followed, 58, Banebridge Avenue!" She said just as a hand grabbed her cell phone, the operater was saying "we'll be right there." Banebridge Ave. was a darkened alley and there was no one outside. The guy pulled off his ski mask and she gasped. It was Michael Bondy. "It's time Melanie." "No! Please don't kill me! I'm pregnant and I have a family." She begged. "So? That didn't keep me from killing your father." He took out a huge knife and held it to her throat. Just then they both heard police sirens. Michael Bondy ran away and mouthed 'soon' just as the police came. Melanie let out a sigh of relief. She was so close to being killed right now, she could never forget the feeling of the knife against her throat. These stuff didn't happen in real life. An officer asked her if she was alright and she saw that it was Officer Fields, the one from the hospital. "Yeah, I'm fine." She said. "Can I go home now?" "I'm afraid not." Officer Fields said. "Now we know for sure that it's Michael Bondy and until we catch him and his gang, we have to discuss a plan we had for you." "What is it?" She asked. "Come to the station right now and we'll explain." He said. She nodded and followed him.
AT THE STATION...
"So do you understand what you have to do?" Officer Fields asked Melanie. "Yes." She said. "And are you sure you're willing to do it?" He asked. "Remember you'll be in isolation, apart from your friends, family and everyone you know, this is a big step and change in your life." "Well at least I'll still have a life." She said in a lame attempt to make a joke. This was scary. She wasn't sure she could do it, but she knew she would be killed if she didn't go along with the plan. "We'll give you a week to arrange everything." He said. "And then this is what you'll do..."
A WEEK LATER...
"I'm hungry." Melanie said to Scott. "I think I'll go buy something to eat, and the gas tank is also empty so let's stop at a gas station, there's one in about 5 minutes down the road. "Ok." Scott agreed. After 5 minutes they stopped at the gas station and Melanie got out. Scott watched her. As she neared the deli, a guy dressed in black came out behind her. Scott saw that he had a gun. And he was pointing it at Mel. "Mel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed as he ran out of the car. Why would anyone shoot his wife? She was such a sweet person. He got to her just as the ambulance did. He felt her pulse. At least she was alive. The paramedics put her on a strecher and into the ambulance. "Come to the hospital in your car." One of the people said. Scott did as he was told, without questioning why he couldn't go with Melanie.
Scott
Scott had been at the hospital for the past 8 hours. Nobody had told him how Melanie was doing, and for some reason he wasn't allowed to see her. He was afraid that she was dying right now and they knew he'd be devastated to see her like that. Mel's doctor came out one of the rooms. "Doctor, how's Mel doing?" He asked anxiously. "Are you family?" He asked. "I'm her husband." Scott said. "Are any other members of her family here?" The doctor asked. "Her mom just went to get some coffee, there she is, Mrs. Touzel, the doctors got news!" He called. She quickly walked over to where Scott and the doctor were standing. "How is she?" Mrs. Touzel asked. "I think you should sit down." The doctor said. Scott sat and her mother sat next to him. "I have some good news and some bad." The doctor said. "I'll start with the good." He continued. "Melanie was just about to have her baby so we induced labor and delivered your baby. If this is the good news, the bad must be about Mel. Scott thought. "How's Mel?" He asked. Unfortunatly he was right about the bad news. The doctor took a deep breath. Scott had a bad feeling about this. Mel wasn't gonna be alright, he just knew it. "When Melanie came in she was suffering from severe chest injuries from where she was shot. She lost a lot of blood. During the delivery she passed out and lost even more blood, we were forced to do a very risky operation immediately with only 50% chance of success." The doctor explained. "Oh no!" Scott cried. "I'm so sorry." The doctor said. "No! It can't be! Noooo!!!" Scott cried. People were looking but he didn't care. "I'm sorry but the surgery failed, she'd lost too much blood and we lost her." "Noooooooo!" He screamed. More people looked but he didn't care. He’d lost the only woman he'd ever truly loved. He started crying. Her mom was still in shock, she held on to him for support and stared at the doctor, letting the news sink in. It finally did. "My baby girl! Nooooo!!! Come back!!!" Her mother cried.

Jacqui & Nikki
"Who was that on the phone?" Jacqui asked after seeing Nikki's shocked look as she hung up. "It was Mrs. Touzel, remember Melanie?" Nikki asked. "Of course I remember her." Jacqui replied. "She was shot last week, apparently by the same guy who shot her dad. And she died." Nikki said. "Oh my god, I can't believe she's dead " Jacqui said. "I know, and she was pregnant but her kid's alright, but it must be so weird for Scott, I mean his wife died on his daughter's birthday." Nikki said. "She had a baby with Scott?" Jacqui asked. Nikki nodded. "Yeah, it's a girl, anyway her funeral's in 2 days, wanna go?" "Course I do. Mel was one of my best friends." Jacqui said. "So should I call for flight reservations?" Nikki asked her. "Course ya should." Jacqui said.
***********************************************************************************
Katie & Lacey
Katie
Katie was practically the first one at Mel's funeral. She'd already talked to Scott and told him how sorry she was. Just then she saw a familiar blond head which she hadn't seen in years. "Shit, Lace is that you?" Lacey took off her sunglasses. "Katie!!!" "Wow it is you!" Katie said. "I can't believe it! I'm so glad you came, I tried to call you but you were unlisted. Mel's death made me realize we parted on such bad terms, and I wanted to say I'm so sorry we lost touch." Katie said. "I am too Katie." Lacey said and they hugged. "What did we fight about anyway?" Lacey shrugged. "I have no idea."
***********************************************************************************
Amber & Abs
Amber
"I still can't believe she's dead." Amber sniffled after the funeral. "I know." Abs said, and she could tell he felt like crying, but he didn't. "At least Scott has her baby to remember her by." Abs said. "Look, there's Rich, we haven't talked to him in ages." Amber said trying to take both their minds off Melanie's death. Ritchie's eyes were all red and he had tears on his face. "I can't believe I lost touch with her." Ritchie said to them as they came over. "This is all so sad, why do people have to die anyways?" Amber said. "Have any of you heard from Sean? Or Steph?" Ritchie asked. "Nope." Amber and Abs said. "I hope he's ok." Ritchie said. "After today, I'm gonna get in touch with all our old friends, I already saw Scott, Katie, Jacqui, Lace and Nikki. I lost touch with Jacqui after we fought like a hundred years ago and today I found her and we decided from now on we should stay in touch. Same for everyone else." Amber said. "You saw Nikki?" Ritchie asked his face lighting up. "Yeah, she's over there talking to Jacqui." Amber pointed her out. "I've gotta go talk to her." Ritchie said.
************************************************************************************
Ritchie "Excuse me." Ritchie said. "Yes?" Nikki turned around. "Ritchie?! What are you doing here?" She asked. "I was Mel's friend too, remember? When we were still in school, she was the only one who believed I was straight." He said. "Listen, Ritchie, I don't think this is the time or place to talk about our personal problems that happened a million years ago, so what do you say we get together sometime this week for dinner?" Nikki suggested. "Sure, here's my number, call me."
**********************************************************************************
Jacqui & Lacey
Jacqui
"That was so sad." Lacey said to Jacqui as the funeral ended. "And poor Scott, he must be a wreck." Jacqui said. "Let's go talk to him." Lacey suggested. "Hey hon, how ya holding up?" Lacey asked. "Ok, considering the fact that my wife is dead, and my daughter is in the hospital with possible brain damage." He said bitterly. "Poor thing." Jacqui hugged him. "I was wondering why you didn't invite Steph? I mean she and Mel were on ok terms when she left." Lacey said. "Well we lost touch, and besides I don't think Mel would appreciate the girl who tried to steal her boyfriend at her funeral. And before you ask about Sean, Jacqui since I know you have this thing for him, he's living somewhere in America and he's unlisted. And he's dating some southern slut." Scott said in a flat tone. Jacqui heard that and her mood lifted. Sean was in the USA? Maybe she could somehow contact him...
************************************************************************************
Ritchie & Nikki:
Ritchie
"I can't believe I thought you were gay!" Nikki laughed as she remembered her high school years. They were taking a walk after dinner. "It really hurt me you know?" Ritchie said. "Oh.I'm sooo sorry for that, but you know how bitchy teen girls can be." Nikki said. "Yeah well it's ok. By the way do you know what happened to that Bianca chick?" He asked. She shook her head. "Haven't got a clue, I haven't heard from her since I moved back to Florida." "You moved back to Florida?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm living with Jacqui?" She told him. "Jacqui Graham?" He asked. "Know any other Jacquis?" she said. "Anyway, Nikki, let's get serious for a minute, I've never gotten over you, even when you thought I was gay I loved you and through all those years we lost touch, I kept thinking of you when I was out on dates with other girls." He said. "That is so sweet. I can't believe someone would think of me in that way." She said. "I've dreamed about this moment for years." He said. "Nikki, will you marry me?" He slipped a diamond ring on her finger. "Oh Ritchie, this is all so sudden, I really can't give you an answer right now." She took the ring off her finger. "But I do think I might love you so I'm willing to give us a try. I've been thinking about this for a while now and I've decided to move to England." "Really?" His eyes lit up. "Do you have a place to live? Cuz you can move in with me." "That would be great, but I need to talk to Jacqui first, to see if she can handle living in the house alone. But I'm sure she'll love it." Nikki said. "Great." Ritchie said and kissed her.

A FEW WEEKS LATER:
BACK IN FLORIDA...
Jacqui
She didn't mind too much that Nikki had stayed in the UK to live with Ritchie. Now she had Nikki's big house all to herself and she had a mission: she had to find Sean. Not really for love, but more to see what had happened to him over the years. She was really curious about him. She was absently watching TV. Scott had said his number was unlisted and he was dating a southern slut. Which probably meant he lived in the South of the USA which was near where she lived. But there were loads of states in the south; Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennesse, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and lots more. Was she supposed to guess which one he was living in? Maybe he was even in Florida! She sighed and turned her attention to the TV. The show was Ricki Lake, one of her favorites but it was a boring topic; overweight teens. But an idea formed in her head. At the end of the show Ricki was saying: "Do you want to be reunited with an ex of yours. Then call the Ricki Lake show at 1-800-GO-RICKI or send a letter to 'The Ricki Lake show, P.o. Box.....' Jacqui took a pen and piece of paper and started writing. Dear Ricki, there's this guy....
************************************************************************************
Sean
(*Sean is now living in Louisiana with Britney Spears' cousin and wannabe-Brittania {a person I made up who acts and looks like Britney} who's also his girlfriend*)
"Hello?" Brittania answered the phone. "Is this the home of Sean Conlon?" The voice asked. "Yeah, I'll go get him." She said. "Yo Sean! You got a phone." Sean came to the living room. "Yeah?" "Sean? This is a producer from the Ricki Lake show. Someone wants to be reunited with you. Do you want to come to New York and be on the show?" The producer asked. "Sure. Who is it?" He asked. "You'll see when you get here." The producer said. "Sean who was that?" Brittania asked. "Oh just some guy. It's for work. I guess I'll have to go to New York soon." There was no way he was gonna tell Brittania about the Ricki Lake Show. She'd insist on going with him. And he had a hunch that it was one of his exes who'd bring him on the show. He didn't have lots of ex-girlfriends in the usa, since he'd only been living in Louisiana for 3 years, and he'd been with Brittania for 6 months. But he'd had a long time 2 year girlfriend Laura who'd dumped him. He'd loved her and been serious about her. Brittania wasn't serious, just someone to have fun with, and she gave him a free place to live, which was good since he'd been trying to get into the music biz for 3 years without success. He was working at McDonald's for now and making minimum wage. Brittania was a spoiled rich girl with her daddy's money. He'd had lots of girlfriends in England, but as far as he knew Ricki Lake didn't have people from the UK on her show so it must be someone from the states. Maybe one of the random girls he'd gone out
with. There had been lots of those. The producer had said the taping was next week so he'd have to fly out to NY next week.
************************************************************************************
Jacqui
Jacqui looked at the moniters nervously as the theme song ended and the title of the show and subject showed up; 'you're my ex, and today I want to be reunited with you.' "Welcome to the show." Ricki was saying. "Today we'll be reuniting couples from the past, when one of them is hoping for a chance to get back together. This is Jacqui." "Hey Ricki." Jacqui said. "She wrote me a letter saying she wanted to be reunited with her ex from 6 years ago. Could your read your letter Jacqui?" Ricki asked. "Sure." Jacqui started to read; 'Dear Ricki, there's this guy that was my boyfriend a long time ago and for some reason I can't forget him. I was hoping to be reunited with him a few weeks ago at a mutual friends funeral in our hometown in England. Then I found out he'd moved to the USA and wasn't able to come. I think it's fate that we're both living in the USA and we were meant to be together. Even though we were only together for a few months, he's special to me. His number was unlisted and I don't even know what state he's living in. All I know is that he's living in the South. Please Ricki, help me find him and reunite us. Thank you so much-Jacqui.' She finished reading. "Well Jacqui, our producers were able to locate Sean, he's living in Kentwood, Louisiana and we're going to talk to him a little, before we reunite you two. We're sending you backstage for now." Ricki said. "ok." Jacqui got up and went backstage.
Sean
"Sean, come on out here." Ricki said and he came out of the Iso-booth. "Hey Ricki." He said taking a seat. "Sean, someone from your past wants to be reunited with you, any idea of who it is?" Ricki asked. "Not a clue." He said. "Well we're going to give you some clues. Will Clue number one come on out?" A blonde chick came out and started dancing. "We danced together?" He guessed. "Not exactly." Ricki said. "Clue number two come on out." It was a guy waving the UK flag. "She knows I'm from England? She likes England?" He guessed again and he was wrong. "Clue number 3?" "Hey Sean. Remember me?" a voice with a british accent said. The voice sounded vaguely familiar but he couldn't quite place it. "Know who it is?" Ricki asked again. "Nope." He shook his head. "Will the person who wants to be reunited with Sean come on out here." Ricki said and someone came out. A tall blond girl. In an instant he knew who she was. She hugged him and sat down next to him. "So Sean, you know the person sitting next to you?" Ricki asked. "yeah, it's Jacqui. What are you doing in America?" he asked shocked that it was her. He'd had no idea she'd be the one who wanted to be reunited with him. After all she'd dumped him. "I moved." She said. "To Florida." From the way she looked at him, it was clear she was interested in him as more than just a friend. "Are you single Jacqui?" Ricki asked. "Yeah." She replied. "And you Sean?" "Actually." He looked at the floor. "no." "Well, we have another surprise for you Sean, It's your girlfriend! Will Sean's girlfriend come on out." Ricki said. Brittania walked over and sat down next to Sean. "Surprised huh baby?" smiled at him. "Isn't this business trip strange?" "Brittania, how do you feel about Jacqui and Sean?" Ricki asked. "She can have him, he wasn't that good anyway if you know what I mean... and he lied to me loads. I can get tons of guys on my own!" Brittania said. "And by the way, I'm kicking you out." "You bitch." Jacqui said. "You can bet Sean's not gonna be with you anymore! Come by our hotel room tonight and see what he’s doing. I can promise you it won't be crying over you." "Sean, you've barely said a word, how do you feel about all this?" Ricki asked him. "Hey I felt for Britt, but that's life, she wasn't that important anyway.kicking you out." "You bitch." Jacqui said. "You can bet Sean's not gonna be with you anymore! Come by our hotel room tonight and see what he’s doing. I can promise you it won't be crying over you." "Sean, you've barely said a word, how do you feel about all this?" Ricki asked him. "Hey I felt for Britt, but that's life, she wasn't that important anyway." He said and the crowd booed as he leaned to kiss Jacqui." "We'll be right back after the commercials." Ricki said. (*Sean moved in with Jacqui and eventually they got engaged.*)

5 YEARS LATER...
Scott
Scott was slowly getting over Mel's death. Melanie Jr. reminded him of her. He'd named their daughter Melanie when she'd died. It was the least he could do. Luckily Melanie hadn't suffered any brain damage and she was ok. She was now in Kindergarten and she had lots of friends. He'd needed a change of atmosphere for him and Melanie so a year after Melanie's death he'd moved with their daughter to California. Los Angeles. It had been a fresh start for him. He'd started his own record label, and he'd made a lot of money from it. The only thing missing was his wife. He settled down in front of the big-screen tv and started to channel surf. He found a movie that looked semi interesting. It had already started but it was easy to figure out the plot. There was an actress there who looked a little familiar but he had no idea from where. He knew a lot of famous people but there was something special about this one. The movie ended and the credits rolled onto the screen. Shit. It was one of those movies where the cast wasn't written at the end. He hated those movies. Oh well. "Daddy." Melanie was tugging on his leg. "Could you take me to Mandy Kate's house?" "Not now sweetie, how about in 15 minutes." He said. "Ok" Melanie said.
the figure watched as Scott got into his car with Melanie. She wished she could be there with him, but she knew she couldn't.
Steph
"Austin I'm going shopping." Steph said. "Mandy Kate's friend Melanie is supposed to come in a few minutes." "Ok, bye honey." Austin said. "Bye Mommy." Mandy said. She kissed both of them. "Have a good time with Melanie, Mandy. Don't make a mess." She said and left the house. She pulled away with her car just as Scott pulled his car in her driveway.
Scott
"Melanie how come we never see Mandy Kate's mom? Does she live with them?" Scott asked when he picked up Melanie. "Yes, but she is a famous person and she makes movies and so does her daddy but her daddy is always home. Mandy's mommy was there once when Julia (*the housekeeper and babysitter*) took me to Mandy’s house." Melanie explained. "Oh, I see." He pulled into their driveway and took Melanie into the house. I think I'll go for a run now, could you keep an eye on Melanie?" He told Julia. "Of course Mr. Robinson." She said. He changed into his running clothes and went outside. He always went running when he had things on his mind. It had saved him from depression after Mel's death. He started to run.
Steph
She was really tired so she decided to go for a run for some energy. She put her hair in a ponytail, changed clothes and went outside. She ran for a while just thinking about stuff. I'm so lucky to have the life I've always dreamed of. she said to herself. She was so happy, with Austin and Mandy Kate. She closed her eyes and started running faster. "Owww." She said as she bumped into someone. "Shit, I shouldn't have closed my eyes." She opened them and stared right into Scott's eyes. Her mouth dropped open. "Scott?"
Scott
How does this person know my name? Scott thought. Then he realized that it was the actress he'd seen in that movie. He looked at her again and was just as shocked as she was because in an instant he'd realized who she was. "Steph?" he asked. "Is that you?" "Yeah." She answered. "What are you doing here?" they asked at the same time. "I live here." Steph said. "So do I." Scott told her. "I moved four years ago." "I've been here ever since I moved here. I got some movie parts and basically made a new life here." She explained. He noticed that her hands were bare except for a ring. A ring on the wedding finger. "Are you?He asked, his voice trailing off. She nodded. "For six years now. I'm sorry." "It's ok." He said. He didn't volunteer any info on his marital status. "Well I'll see you around." She said. "Yeah, maybe we can get together sometime. I'm listed in the phonebook." He said. "See ya." "Bye." This had been weird. He'd met Steph after so many years apart but he had nothing to say to her. He wasn't sure if his feelings for her were gone or not, since he definitely had felt something when he'd seen her.
***********************************************************************************
Steph
"Mommy could you take me to Melanie's house?" Mandy asked. "I'm busy sweetie." Steph replied. "Can't your father take you?" "He went to buy food." Mandy Kate said. "Ok, I'll take you. Is it ok with Melanie's parents?" She asked. "Just her daddy, her mommy's up in heaven." Mandy Kate said. Steph wasn't sure what she meant by that so she let it pass. She got in the car and drove Mandy to her friends house. "Come inside with me, please? Her daddy is scary." Mandy Kate said. "What's scary about her daddy?" Steph asked. "His hair stands up." Mandy Kate said. Steph laughed at that and rang Melanie's doorbell. It was opened by a mexican woman. Her mother? No, Melanie didn't look Mexican. "Come inside, Melanie is waiting for Amanda Kate." The mexican woman said.Steph followed Mandy Kate to the living room. She saw Melanie and... "Scott?" "Steph? What are you doing here?" He asked. "I'm Mandy Kate's mom, what about you?"
"Isn't it obvious? Mels my daughter?" He replied. "Could we talk for a few minutes?" She asked. "Sure. How about we take a walk? Julia could you watch the kids for a few minutes?" He asked. "Of course Mr. Robinson." Julia replied.
The figure watched them go outside and start walking. What was she doing at his house? She wondered. And who was that little girl? Could it be that it was their daughter? She couldn't keep following them now, because they were going outside. She quickly hid behind the bushes.
Steph
"Is your husband Austin Hill?" Scott asked her. "Yeah, he's mandy Kate's father." She answered. "So who's Melanie's mom?" "Melanie. Melanie Touzel." He replied. "Oh so you're still with her. I knew it would work out between you two." She smiled. "No actually, she's...she's dead." He said. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry." She said quietly. "It's ok, she died 5 years ago. On Melanie's birthday. She was killed." He replied. "It must be horrible for you." She said gently. "I know how much you loved her." "I did." He stared into her eyes and for a moment, he felt what he'd felt a long time ago. He leaned down and kissed her. She pulled away. "Scott... We shouldn't do this. I'm sorry, but I'm married and I love Austin. I could never cheat on him." "It's ok. I've been wondering what it would be like for all these years and now, kissing you, I realized the feelings I had for you are gone. I still love Melanie." He said. Steph squeezed his hand. "I was wondering too. And I'm glad now we're both over those feelings, we can be good friends." "That's a good idea. Now tell me about your life, we have a lot of catching up to do." Scott said as they sat down on a bench.
Melanie watched Scott and Steph as they talked and once in a while laughed. She was happy for him. She'd seen that he'd kissed her, and she'd pulled away and he'd admitted to still loving her and not Steph. Mel was happy that Scott could finally start a new life. Even though it was going to be a new life without her. (*In case you didn't get it: The figure is Melanie, she wasn't really killed. She was in a Witness Protection Program but she wasn't allowed to talk to Scott so instead she followed him and watched his life go on without her.*)
