OUR ACTIVITIES

We have been very busy during our first year as Brownies.

September 98'

We had our first meeting. Most of the girls were new to Girl Scouts so we spent time working on our Girl Scout Promise. We also started working on our first badge. We played several games from all over the world and earned the play badge.

October 98'

We worked on 2 badges this month. The manners badge was fun. We learned how people in other parts of the world introduce themselves to eachother. We also learned how to answer the phone correctly and how to be "wise" when speaking to strangers on the phone.

November 98'

This month we finished working on our manners badge. We also had a creative turkey contest. We had to make a turkey patterned out of our hand. 1st place went to Krystin (who had a 3d turkey), 2nd place went to Genesis, 3rd place went to Jordan and 4th place went to Hannah.

December 98'

This month we became "official" brownies. We had our investiture. Each of us went up front and after lighting a candle we said our Girl Scout Promise. We were able to take our candle home to remind us of the promise we said. We then received our brownie pin.

January 99'

This month we started working on our countries for Thinking Day. Each of us has to pick a country and then represent it. We also started selling cookies this month. We spent one meeting earning our cookie patch. We also set a goal of 1,500 cookies. We sure hope we reach that goal (wish us luck)!!!

February 99'

This was a very busy month! We started working on 3 new badges; Dance, Animals and Watching Wildlife. We had our valentine "our favorite guy" banquet. We played games and had a valentine box contest. The winners were 1st-Breigh Anna, 2nd-Genesis, 3rd (a tie)-Hannah and Jaqueline. We also worked very hard on cookie sales and participated in a boot sale. We are working on Japan for our unit thinking day activity.
