March Newsletter

Wow! February was a very busy month and we made it! Thank you for allowing your daughter to participate in the father-daughter banquet, cookie sales and the cookie booth sale. All of these activities were a success. As for March, this is going to be another busy month.

Cookies...We need to turn in all monies on Saturday, March 6,1999. Thank you in advance for your timely cooperation. A big applause for the girl's who worked the cookie booth sale at Kings Soopers. We had two girls work the full 4 hours (Ann and Genesis). Great job! As soon as cookie dad has the final count of cookies sold we will let you know.

Thinking Day...As of today I have all but one girls choice for the country they will be representing on thinking day. Each girl will be making a 3-5 min. report on their country. They will also have a section of a table to display their country (they are welcome to use anything they choose to decorate with). Let them be creative! Each girl is also responsible for making a food dish that comes from their country (example: Mexico-enchiladas, beans or chile). Please prepare enough for 50 people to sample. I have also been asked if the girls can dress in costume. Yes!! I encourage the girls to be as creative as possible and to have fun with this.

Badges...We continue to work on our dance badge. To get this badge the girls are working on a dance and planning a dance party. We did complete the cookie badge this month along with the cookie activity pin. Great job girls! We are planning some activities to finish up our animals badge.

Snacks...March 4..leader,March 11...Breigh Anna...March 18...Lucille,March 25...Keanna,April 1...vacation.

Japan...We will be participating in Shifting Sand's International Night. We will be representing Japan. We started working on this last week and will continue to work on it during March. Please if you have any information or souvenirs that we could use, we would be so thankful! Any ideas on a Japanese food (we need to make enough for 300 people!) would be very helpful. The girls also need to pay 1.00 each (this is for the patch we will receive for participating). Please pay asap.

Our Web Page...Troop 1103 now has a web site! It has taken awhile but it is now ready for viewing. I would love to hear your comments on this site (please be gentle because this is my first try at a web page. LOL).

I realize this is another busy month for troop 1103. I hope the girls will be able to participate in everything we are doing this month. I also realize there are some dates still up in the air and I promise to get the information to you as soon as I receive it.
