Kaelen is a young, soft-spoken elf barely halfway through his thirties, just a baby by elven standards. Withdrawn, with a distant stare ever-present in his bright, emerald eyes, the young Ranger keeps to himself unless absolutely necessary.

With the army decimated by the recent war, Kaelen is one of the few veterans left alive in the kingdom. Thrust too far and too fast up the chain of the command -- his youth of no consequence with the utter lack of experience that now plagues the army -- he finds himself with the rank of Captain, the youngest ever to receive such a posting, attempting to be an example to the ripe crop of new warriors. As one of the few in the kingdom to have seen and survived combat, he enjoys a mild celebrity status, but one that doesn't quite seem to agree with him....
