The shear number of cold showers, increased by about sixy-nine percent, nightly. The sexual tension increased by one hundred and twenty percent. Yet, the kisses, touches, and teasing never stopped. They needed the contact, despite not being able to admit being ready for this.
Being cooped up in the house together was unbearable. Orlando started spending more time with Rudy during the day. Viggo started throwing himself fully in his painting and photography, often being locked away for a couple of days at a time. Sean puttered around the house feeling tense and useless.
Then they all got a great idea. Call Ian. He'll know what to do. He always has advice, if you wanted it or not. He was a nosy bugger, but he also was a good listener.
Sean called first, one day when Viggo was locked away painting. Sean watched Orli out on the surf, as he picked up the phone. Dialing Ian's number, he began pacing the room nervously. He paced until the other end was picked up.
"Hello?" Only a select group of people called this number, so he didn't feel the need to be formal.
"Ian?"
"Beanie?"
"Yeah, hello. How are you doing?"
"I am fine, my boy. How are you and the others doing?"
"Umm, fine. Just fine. Do you have a moment?"
"You, do not sound so very sure of yourself. I always have a moment or two to spare for my family."
"I'm not very sure of myself. We can barely spend a half hour around each other, without going crazy. Viggo's always off painting or taking pictures. Orlando's always off with Rudy or out at the beach. I'm usually stuck around the house."
"What might be causing this?"
A soft sigh, but its weight was heavy. "I asked them to wait, because I wasn't ready for anything of a sexual nature. Well we've been waiting, but now I think I'm ready. I don't know if Orlando is yet, and Viggo is worried about the both of us."
"Never been with a man, I take it."
"No." Another sigh.
"Have you talked to them about this?"
"No. I'm afraid. I don't know why."
"It would be best, if you talked it out with each other. It is better than avoiding each other, is it not?"
"Yeah. I guess you're right. I'll give that a try tonight, Ian. Thanks for listening."
"No problem, my boy. Give me a call if you need anything."
"You know I will. Talk to you later, Ian."
"Good-bye."
The line went dead, and Sean sighed again. Talking, so much easier said than done. Turning he made his way up to the shower. Orlando watched from the outside. He couldn't hear the conversation, but as soon as Sean left the room he stepped into the house. Waiting till he heard the shower start, then headed over to the phone. Lifting it from its cradle, he dialed Ian's number.
Hearing the phone ring again, Ian looked at it puzzled. Could Sean be calling back again so soon? Picking it up, he sounded very confused. "Hello?"
"Ian?"
"Yes. Orlando?" This day just kept getting more bizzare.
"Yep! Hello Ian. How are you doing? I haven't talked to you in a while. How's Nick?"
"Nick is doing alright. He's a bit homesick, but hanging in there. I'm fine, just a bit shocked. I've gotten a lot of phone calls today from fellow fellowship members."
"Oh? Not many call you at once, do they? Tell Nick I said hello, when you talk to him again."
"Oh, I'm used to several a week, just not several in one day. Not unless something's really wrong, and seeing as nothing is wrong..."
"Well, we miss you. Was talking to Rudy awhile back, about the red teddy incident. His main comment, was he hoped your pubic hair, was not showing."
Ian snorted, and started laughing. "John and I, was playing chess. We were a bit...sloshed. We actually made a bet on chess. John won, I got the red teddy. I've heard a lot about this Rudy fellow. Who is he exactly?"
"Rudy? He's a guy we met at a local bar we frequent. He's like a father to me. He's really close friends with Viggo and Sean. He's the one who went with Viggo to go take care of Harry and his goon. He's bigger than John!"
"I would like to meet, Rudy then." Another snort of laughter. "He said that about my pubic hair, did he?"
"Yes, and he wants to meet you. You know, I need therapy from that whole incident. I was too young to see that, you know."
Full blown laughter, and Ian gasped for a little breath. "Glad I could help corrupt you then. I thought I would never have a chance, with you always hanging around the hobbits."
Orli's grin turned to laughter. "Oh, just wait until I tell my therapist about this. I might even give her you're phone number."
"Sorry my dear boy, I don't go for the ladies."
"Oh, I know that, but you really need to have that head of yours examined sometime."
"No, they tried years ago. Decided to just put a warning label on me, and set me loose on the public."
The laughter between the two was full fledged. Tears ran down cheeks, and smiles lit up both rooms. This was a beautiful friendship, where no secrets could be held. Once the laughter calmed, Orli started speaking again.
"Ian. I called because, I wanted to...well I need some advise. Well, I wanted to talk to you too. I don't mean I only want to talk to you for advice. I mean..."
Ian broke in smoothly, the smile could still be heard in his voice. "It's quite alright Orli. I fully understand. I'm here to guide, as well as corrupt."
A small chuckle, and a slight relaxation of Orlando's body. "I know. Thanks." A small sigh. "My body is ready for the next step, so is my mind. There is some fear there. The only way to get rid of it is to go onto the next step. Being fully...intimate. The problem is, Sean has never done this. He wasn't ready. Viggo is worried about us both. The tension is unbearable, and I'm not sure how to approach the subject."
Ian had to wonder when Viggo was going to call. He had a feeling it would be sometime tonight. "Well, to be perfectly honest, just be blunt. Just come out and say what you are feeling. It is not going to help anyone by hiding. Even if Sean is not quite ready, he will know. Viggo will know. Perhaps then things can move a bit progressively forward. It does not have to start with being just about the sex."
"I know it don't. I guess I was afraid that Sean wouldn't be ready for anything beyond what we already have. I forgot about the steps that come before, that we haven't explored. I guess the tension is getting to me."
"Its quite alright. You know, just be honest. Talk it out with everyone. It will work itself out. You are with two great, understanding guys."
"I know Ian, and I love them both dearly."
"I'm glad to hear that, my boy. You go on, plan your attack. My tea is ready. I'll talk to you soon. Keep me informed of what is going on. Please?"
"I will, I promise. I miss you, Ian. I hope we can see you soon."
"You will. I'll try to plan to come out soon. I miss you all as well. Now go on. I'll talk to you soon.
"Thanks Ian. Bye."
"Bye, Orli." And the line went dead.
Orli hung up his end of the line, and moved back out onto the deck. Sitting in a chair he began pondering all they talked about. Sighing softly, he leaned back and closed his eyes.
Viggo tried Ian's number from his studio on his cell phone. He frowned when it was busy, and went back to painting for about twenty minutes. This one was darker than most of his works. It was full of his tension, frustration, and his worries. Stopping again, he frowned deeper, and grabbed the phone again. Dialing Ian's number again, he heard it ring. Putting down the brush, he sat in a chair and waited.
Ian heard the phone, and just started chuckling. Picking it up, he grinned. "Hello Viggo."
A pause, a long pause. "Ian? How did you know it was me?"
"Well this is the third call I have gotten today, from your household. After the first two, I figured you would be next."
Another long pause, and Viggo was very confused. "You had two other calls today, from here?" He was trying so hard to puzzle this out.
"Yes, Viggo. First Sean called, then Orlando. They both voiced the same concerns. I figure you have the same ones, so I'm going to be blunt. They both know you worry over them both. They both are ready for the next phases of the relationship, and they are both scared. I've talked them both into talking about it. Orlando might, but Sean...I think honestly he's still a bit scared to."
Another very long pause, Viggo trying to sort this out. He's glad he's sitting down right now. Otherwise he might fall. "Okay, let me get this straight. Sean and Orlando called you today?"
The ever patient Ian, just smiled. "Yes, they both called me today."
"And they both talked about moving on in the relationship?"
"Yes, and neither wants to hurt the other."
"Forgive me, Ian. I think I'm lost."
"You are not lost, my boy. I just shocked the hell out of you."
"That you did, Ian. That you did. So we all got the idea to call you, and talk to you, all on the same day?" He raked his fingers through his hair, willing his brain to start working again.
"It appears so. First Sean called, then not but five minutes later Orlando called. Both saying nearly the same thing about the other."
"I must have tried to call the first time, when Orlando was talking to you."
"Probably. Sounds like it could have been."
"So they both talked about moving on, further?"
"Yes, they did. I'll tell you exactly what they told me, so you can figure out where to go to from here. Sean said he felt he was ready to move on, I think the words he used was sexual relations." A soft chuckle. "He said he was worried about Orlando, and if he was ready or not. I told him to talk about it. he said he would, but I don't know if he has the guts just yet. Orlando on the other hand, expressed his concerns over Sean. He also mentioned that despite lingering fears, he thought his mind and body was quite ready. He thinks the fears will go away, once he experiences the love the three of you share."
"Alright, so Sean and Orlando are ready. They both have reservations, and Orlando is slightly scared. Sounds like Sean might be too. Despite the fears, they both feel they are ready. They are both too shy or scared to talk about it. Which leaves it on my shoulders."
"Not fully. I think Orlando will open up pretty easily. Sean might, once Orlando does. You still might want to come up with some sort of game plan though. Perhaps a nice dinner?"
Viggo's mind was already racing, forming plans faster than he could get them sorted out. "I think I have a few ideas. I'll get to work on them immedately. Thanks Ian. I appreciate this."
"No problem. I'm glad I could help. Now, I'm going to finish my tea, and take a long bath. I'll talk to you later."
"Sure thing, and Ian. Have a good night."
"I will." And for the third time that night, the line went dead.
Viggo grabbed his notebook, after hanging up the phone. He began writing quickly, trying to put some orginization to his thoughts. Get Sean and Orlando out of the house. Nice dinner, do I order something in while they are gone? Thoughts just raced, as he scribbled nearly a page of ideas.
********************
Nearly an hour later, Viggo stepped out of the room he used for a studio. Stepping into the living room he picked up his keys. "Sean. Orlando. I'm heading out to the store for a bit, do you need anything?
Sean ducked his head out of their bedroom, and he had an impish look in his eyes. "How about some chocolate and some stra...."
Viggo cut in quickly, shaking his head. "Don't even say it, Sean. Chocolate I can do, the other you can live without."
Sean started pouting cutely, something he's been picking up from Orlando. "But I am honestly craving some straw..."
Affectively cutting Sean off, Viggo shook his head with a mock sigh. "Alright, Sean. I'll get them for you. Just don't say the word. That's the last time I let Orlando watch Goldeneye."
Orlando bounced out of the shower, wrapped in a towel. "Did you call me, Vig?"
"Yeah, heading to the store. Do you need anything?"
"Umm, fags. I'm nearly out. Please?" He gave Viggo his most adorable grin. "Oh, and some chocolate."
"That's already on the list. You sure there is nothing else?"
"Not for me, Thanks."
"Sean?"
Sean looked up from his pouting, arms crossed over his chest. He tried to sound sullen. "No, just don't forget the..."
Before Sean could get the word out, Viggo was out the door, with Orlando's laughter following behind him. Heading to the car, he jumped in and started it up. He pulled out of the drive quickly, just in case they decided to torment him more.
Viggo returned an hour later, and stepped into the house. Orlando was sprawled out on the couch, and Sean was sprawled out in a chair. Both had eyes on the tv screen, but neither seemed to be watching it. At least the tension wasn't at full strength. Tossing a bag on Orli's stomach, he made his way into the kitchen.
He heard the rustling of the bag. "Cool! Thanks Vig!"
"You're welcome, both of you. Why don't you two go out for a walk, or go see a movie? Anything really. I want to finish up something, then I'm going to cook dinner. Give me about three hours?"
Sean glanced towards the kitchen, and slightly raised a brow. "You trying to get rid of us?"
"No. You two are obviously bored. No sense in hanging around here, when you can both go out or something."
"Viggo has a point, Sean. We are bored stiff. We could go on a drive or something, at least."
"True, very true. Alright. We'll go on a drive, maybe stop somewhere and take a walk, or shop, or something."
"Sounds like a wonderfully vague plan." Orlando was already up and grabbing his shoes, hopping around on one foot while he pulled them on.
Sean was up and went into the kitchen, to get the keys from Vig. "Keys?"
Viggo grinned, and tossed them to Sean. About five minutes later, the two were out the door. They were both very glad to get out of the house for awhile.
********************
Sean and Orli returned home about three and a half hours later. Viggo was actually glad they were a little late. He understimated the time it would take. He heard the car in the drive, and sat down at the table they had outside.
Sean walked up to the front door, and frowned at the note taped there. 'Sean and Orli, when you get home, please come around back.' Sean tested the door, after passing the note to Orli. Orli also had a frown, but Sean's deepened when he found the door locked. Taking the keys, he blinked when he saw the house key was gone.
"The house key's gone"
Orli looked up startled. "What?"
"The door is locked and the house key is gone. I'm sarting to think Viggo was trying to get rid of us."
"Okay, that's a bit weird. Even for Viggo, I mean. He said go around back. I guess we should?"
"Yeah, the sooner we walk around the house, the sooner we can get Viggo for being a brat."
Orli chuckled and nodded, and they both started around the side of the house. They walked in a contemplative silence, both wondering what Viggo was up to. Their musings were soon cut short, as they walked around to the patio.
Viggo sat at the table waiting for them. The table was set nicely, wine already poured. Whatever he had cooked smelled delicious, and sat under some covered bowls. Viggo gave them a heart warming smile, standing up.
"Time for dinner gentlemen. Please have a seat."
Orlando and Sean sat down, looking a bit speechless. Viggo uncovered the bowls to reveal; grilled vegetables, some sort of very fragrant rice, and grilled sea bass. One bowl though held one of Orlando's favorite dishes.
No one could remember the name, and the other two hated it, something about the ingredients. It was basically mushrooms sauteed up with onions, garlic, fresh tomatoes, black olives, green peppers, leeks, and a touch of lemon grass. Orli loved the combination, but it was a bit odd for the other two.
Orli's eyes lit up, and he smiled brightly. "Thanks, Viggo. It probably took you the entire time we were gone to cook this."
"I enjoyed doing it Orli. Seeing that smile, is more than thanks enough."
Sean also smiled, ducking his head just a touch. "Thank you, Viggo."
"You're welcome, now lets dig in. I'm starved."
Dinner was a leisurely affair. The tension was gone, for awhile. They talked easily about everything, and nothing at the same time. When everyone was full, Viggo stood up again. Picking up the bottle of wine, and his glass, he motioned the other two to follow him. Picking up their glasses, they did just that.
