The ride in the Jeep, was filled with silent unspoken words about Orli. Passed back and forth between the rear view mirror. Sean kept Orli distracted, by reaching in front of him and tousling the curly locks. All too soon a mock fight started between them. Orli was trying to slap behind him at Sean. Sean kept messing with his hair, or trying to find a ticklish spot.

Viggo drove silently, ignoring the antics of the two. Other than the silent conversation between him and Sean, he concentrated on the road. Turning off to another spot he found while exploring New Zealand, hoping that they both like it.

Parking the Jeep, Viggo slid out and started walking. The other two caught up with him in a moment or two. Orli was looking around a bit more this time. Sean knew his friend was still pissed, and didn't bother him. Perhaps this outing will help them both?

They were all quiet, and sitting back. Viggo didn't even look at his camera, sitting with his thoughts. Orli became nervous and paced the wooded area. Sean just sat back and relaxed, watching the two of them. Finally breaking the silence, Sean made a jest at Orli.

Vig didn't even notice that, until Orli went charging towards Sean, tackling the larger man. They began a mock wrestling match in the bed of leaves, sticks, and grass that coated the floor of the woods. Sean could have easily held Orli down, but he only put up mock struggles. That got Viggo reaching for the camera.

He watched the scene through the camera, snapping pictures of the laughing men. Both covered in leaves and grass stains. Oh, and Orli had a stick, stuck in his curls. Anger slowly bled from his frame, with each picture, until he was relaxed. The two combatants were catching their breath.

The afternoon passed to evening quickly then. They all talked and joked about this and that. Orli became more animated as the time flew by. More and more like the Orli they both knew. The enigma of seriousness, wrapped in a package of pure hyperness.

At dusk they packed themselves up and left. They decided to go to eat, and to see a movie. It was some stupid movie that didn't have much of a plot. It suited the three just fine. They just wanted out of that hotel just for awhile longer.

The days passed quickly. They always found something to do. Movies, a club or two. Never any place that they had frequented before. Once Vig even woke from a nap, to hear Sean laughing. Orli had paint dripping down his face as he pressed it to a fresh canvas that was sitting on the easel. Sean was holding his sides, doubled over. Orli cheekily told Vig that it was for inspiration on his next painting, before flouncing off to the bathroom to wash his face.

The nights were quiet, and restful. The three of them shared the big bed, always keeping Orli between them. This seemed to keep the nightmares away.

It had been a month, and Orli's eyes were shining again, full of life. He'd gained back some of the weight he had lost. He drug the two older men out to go surfing. Viggo followed willingly into the water, but Sean stayed back on the beach to watch.

Sean was scanning the crowd, feeling eyes boring into his back. Turning to look, his eyes narrowed. Did he see, who he thought he saw? It couldn't be. Orli was just starting to recover, become himself again. Turning a desperate gaze to the water, he silently willed Viggo to come in soon.

Almost as if sensing something was wrong, Viggo came to shore about five minutes later. Searching for Sean, he saw the desperate look in his friends eyes. Hurrying over, he drops the surf board onto the ground, grabbing Sean's shoulders. "What is it, Sean?"

"I... I felt eyes staring at me. Not a friendly gaze. I turned to look. I think he's here. I think Harry's found Orli yet again." His voice is so soft, filled with fear for Orli.

A growl from Viggo. "Stay here. I'm going to search the beach. You get Orli back to the hotel, I'll catch a Taxi back."

Before Sean could even nod, Viggo strode off. The anger was back, with a vengeance. Orli came in about ten minutes later, muttering something about no more good waves. Sean just smiled at him, hiding his own anger and fear.

"Where's Vig?"

"Hmm? Oh, he thought he saw an old friend, and went to go make sure. He said he'd get a Taxi back to the hotel. Lets go get you something to eat, and lets go wait for him."

"I'm not really hungry yet, Sean. We can wait for Viggo to get back, before we go eat. Ok? I would like to get a shower first, so going back to the hotel is a good idea."

Something was wrong, Sean was acting weird. It wasn't like Viggo to just wander off. Not recently anyway. Those two stuck to him like a pair of shadows. He didn't mind, they were good company, but something was definitely up.

He wanted to ask, but something told him he could ask until he was blue in the face. Sean wasn't going to talk, and that worried him. He followed Sean quickly, missing the eyes that were watching him.

Viggo searched the beach, and the parking lot. Not finding Harry, he eventually called for a Taxi, but he had a feeling he was there. He felt that cold and cruel gaze on him. They had to leave, before Harry found out the hotel they were in. They had to get out of New Zealand.

He had the Taxi driver, drop him off at a hotel a few blocks away. Ducking inside, he found a dark corner to hide in. A few moments later a huge hulking guy came in. His face fit the description of the Grayson that Orli had given. They must not have followed Sean, that or Sean had given them the slip.

Not feeling very reassured, Viggo waited until they left. He went to the clerk and told him to say that a Viggo Mortensen had been registered here, but had left only about a half hour before. He also told him to say that two men left with him, and they all had bags. He paid the man well for his trouble.

Slipping out of that hotel, and walking in the dark shadows, made it back to his. Going to the clerk, he made sure the man wouldn't give out any information about him being here, or being here with anyone else. That he'd never been around. This would buy them a small amount of time.

Making his way up to the room he shared, he slipped inside the door. Looking around he only saw Sean, who was staring out the window. "Sean?"

"Orli's in the shower. We went on a long and twisting drive, before coming back here. He just got in a couple of moments ago. He suspects something is wrong, I can see it when he looks at me."

"It gets worse. That guy Grayson's here with Harry. I couldn't find him at the beach, but Grayson followed the taxi I called. I had the man drop me off at another hotel, and paid the clerk to give a story about us being there and leaving. How in the hell did he find out Orli was here?"

Viggo was frustrated and angry. Sean just shrugged his shoulders, frowning as he leaned his forehead against the glass. "I don't know Vig, I wish I did."

"We have to leave. Get Orli out of New Zealand. We're going to have to tell Orli. I don't want to, but its for his own protection. I'm going to kill Harry, for this shit."

"I know, Vig. I want to hurt him too. Orli's just starting to recover from all of that. I can't stand to see him in that shape again."

Neither heard the bathroom door open. Orli only heard the last part of Sean's statement, standing there dripping with a towel around his waist. "See who in what shape again?" His question and voice was quiet, and very serious.

Sean and Vig both jumped, turning to look at Orli. Viggo was still in the wetsuit, his hair had dried funny from the salt water. They both studied him with intense eyes.

Sean spoke very softly, "You, Orli".

Orlando paled slightly, and leaned up against the door. Something was wrong, he wasn't mistaking it. The long drive, Viggo's disappearance. Something was very very wrong.

"Let me get a shower, Orli, then we'll talk. Alright?" Cool blue eyes, met wide deep brown ones.

"Alright," was the weak reply, but he moved from the bathroom doorway, and towards the bed. He dug out a pair of jeans, and a t-shirt, and began to get dressed nervously.

Vig set down his small bag, and went to the bathroom. Shutting the door, they heard the movements from inside, the sound of water starting again. Sean just stayed by the window, turning to look out of it again.

Orli got nervous, very nervous. He began fidgeting, pacing the room, and picking up nearly every object he stopped by. Finally he stopped by Sean. He was shaking, scared. This silence scared him. He stepped forward and laid his head on the back of Sean's shoulder. He felt Sean's hand work their way into his damp curls, softly stroking them. Soothing him without words.

After what seemed to be an eternity, Viggo stepped out of the bathroom so quietly, again it wasn't heard. Seeing Orli and Sean stand like that, he smiled faintly. Picking up the closest camera, he silently took a couple of pictures. Setting it back down, he started for the dresser.

The sound of the dresser opening, snapped the other two out of the silent spell they were under. Turning they looked towards Vig as he pulled on a sweater and a pair of jeans. Sean took Orli's hand and led him to the bed. Viggo followed a moment later, sitting down on the other side of him.

Orli found himself trapped between both men, both taking one of his hands and holding it. They sat in silence for a moment, the tension mounting. He began fidgeting again.

"What's wrong?" Amazed his voice came out sounding so calm.

Sean wrapped an arm around him, Viggo looked up with those anger filled eyes, keeping his voice calm and gentle. "Harry's here, Orli. Sean caught a glance of him at the beach. Grayson is here as well. He followed me. We've got them fooled for now, but we need to get out of here. Out of New Zealand. We won't let them hurt you again."

Orli blanched, and paled. He felt sick all of a sudden. Two sets of strong arms wrapped around him, holding him, stroking his back, and playing with his hair. They cared about him. He knew they would protect him, but old fears were there. Old hurts that had not fully healed yet. He began crying again, for the first time in a couple of weeks.

They didn't let go of him. They held him like this until he calmed down. Even then they didn't move from his side. Some part of them was always in contact, reassuring him. Sean's voice slowly filtered through to him.

"We will protect you Orli, but first we need to get you away from them. To some place, if they do find you, we can openly confront them. When we leave, leave a trail for them to follow. This has to end, but this isn't the place."

He felt Viggo nod his agreement, his head resting against the top of Orli's. They had him held so close, that despite the news, he started feeling very secure. He relaxed. He knew they felt it, and still they held him.

"How about a secluded beach somewhere? Rent a house for a short time. Make sure its rented in one of our names?"

Was he actually agreeing to this? Was he insane? What if they got hurt, protecting him? That would kill him. He was basically putting his existence into their hands, and asking them to possibly get hurt. He trembled, arms tightening around him again.

"It will be ok, Orli. I swear to you. The sooner this ends, the sooner you can heal. I think I know of a place near L.A. that we can rent. Private, and quiet. I've stayed there before."

Somehow Orli knew, that everything would be alright. No matter how things started, or ended.

In a blur that made Orlando dizzy, arrangements were made. The house was rented, the airline tickets reserved, and the packing was done quickly. In just a matter of a few hours, they were on a plane again.

The three of them sat together. Viggo was quiet and reserved, while Sean kept distracting Orli with stories and jokes. He had to be distracted. Between his cravings for a cigarette, and hating to sit still for so long.

The flight passed without incident. Too many hours later, found Viggo pulling up to the house. They were exhausted. Orli was already asleep in the back. Sean was awake, but silent. Luckily Viggo had asked the owner to pick up some basic food items, to tide them over.

They carried Orli into the house. Sean went back for the bags, while Viggo got Orli into bed. Once the house was secured, Vig made coffee. He needed a cup before going to bed. Sean sat with him quietly staring at the wall, eyes half closed.

"Go onto bed, Sean. I'll be along soon."

"So, we're going to keep the same sleeping arrangements?"

Looking over at Sean startled, Viggo's eyes study his for awhile. The tiredness seeping from him, just slightly. "Yeah, it helps Orli sleep better."

Sean just nodded vaguely, feeling very much a prat at the current moment. "Yeah, it does. Doesn't it?"

Those blue eyes gaze over green ones, as if trying to read what was behind them. Sean was inwardly squirming, staring at the wall again. Viggo just smiled slowly.

"Besides, I think we're all too used to sharing a bed, to be comfortable on our own." With that he drained the mug of coffee, and grabbed Sean's hand, leading him back towards the one bedroom.

********************

No one spoke of the growing feelings between them. No one spoke of the tension that waiting caused, either. They just existed. Walks on the beach, dining in or out, going out to a small club, or to a bar.

Viggo's art supplies came in a couple of weeks, he had taken his cameras on the plane. He talked Sean into helping him finish the painting Orli had started. They coated the sides of their faces in paint, pressing it near Orli's. It was a very simple painting, but it spoke volumes. At least to Viggo it did.

Orli made calls to Atti, and the hobbits. He talked with them, and told them he was sorry for not keeping in touch better. They asked questions of course, but he evaded them for now. He needed to have this over with, before confessing to anyone.

Viggo and Sean kept in touch with their ex-wives and children. They talked to them often, and of course there were questions. The most answers they got, was that it was important. A friend was being hurt, and they needed to help him right now.

It was only about three weeks after getting to the house, that Viggo started noticing them being watched and followed. He mentioned it to Sean, who had noticed it also. Orli for the most part seemed unaware. That was good right now, he was fragile, and that was definitely not a word normally used for Orli.

About a month after arriving, they were at what had become their favorite bar. Sean had went to the bathroom, and Viggo was at the juke box, picking out some songs. Orli left alone at their table, didn't see Harry or Grayson enter the club.Orli barely noticed someone was standing behind him, before the cruel whisper reached his ear.

"Hello slut, ready for another round?"

Orli, had a glass in his hand, but it fell numbly to the table with a loud clatter. He sat there frozen, eyes wide with fear. His body began trembling, fingers curling around the chair.

Viggo heard the glass drop, and turned his head. Eyes narrowing, he starts for Orli. Sean who was coming out of the bathroom, started over. Viggo pushed Harry away, roughly. Sean's arms went around Orli, holding the young man tight.

"Leave him alone, Harry. You are not getting near him again. You or you're goon. Not this time, and not ever again." Viggo's voice was deadly quiet.

Harry laughed, and shook his head. "I don't think so Mortensen. His body is mine to abuse. Do you know how hot he is sprawled out over a table, with strangers invading his body?"

Sean shook his head. Harry was an idiot. Everyone had learned when not to mess with Viggo. Everyone except Harry, it seemed. The old saying, It's always the quiet ones, fit him nicely.

Sean stroked Orli's back, trying to calm him. Holding him close. Orli just sat frozen, terrified. He didn't respond to Sean. Watching the drink he spilled drip onto his lap and the floor.

A huge bear of a man, entered the bar. He was a lot like John. The three had became fast friends with Rudy. Seeing the tenseness around his friend's table, had him over in a heartbeat. His booming voice, reached around them, cutting the tense gazes, as all eyes turned to him.

"Hello, what seems to be the problem? I hope these two men, are not bothering you?"

Rudy had become like a father to Orli. He was trusted, and often hung around the bar with them, or at their house. He taught Orli things he knew, or tried to, anyway. It was Rudy's deep voice, that snapped Orli out of his trance.

Orli turned to look at Rudy, speaking in a very soft shaking voice. "These are the men, we told you about. The...the ones that hurt me."

"I see." More was presented in those two words, than an entire rant could hold.

Viggo and Sean nodded in unison to Orli's soft statement. Sean continued to hold the younger man close. Viggo on the other hand, turned towards Harry again, his voice the same deadly quiet.

"It ends tonight, Harry. One way or the other, you will be leaving Orlando alone. You've done enough damage."

Orli's eyes teared up, and he lowered his head. The trembling started in violently. He didn't want people he was closest to, hurt because of him.

"Let him take me. I...I won't let any of you be hurt, not because of me."

Before anyone could speak, or even react to Orlando's statement, he pushed Sean away, and stood. He sniffled softly, and started to walk towards Harry. Just before Harry started to gloat, and before Viggo and Sean could start to react, a large arm ensnared Orli and lifted him up.

Rudy picked up the young man who he become to love dearly, and held him in a bear hug. Orli didn't even struggle. He looked like a child in the over seven foot tall giant's arms.

"No, Orlando. Don't think it, and don't say it. I love you, and Sean and Viggo love you. We won't let this hurt you any more. Whatever happens, I'll be there too. I promised you, remember?"

A small nod of the head, soft sobbing coming from Orli. Sean and Viggo give each other stunned looks. Did he just try to sacrifice himself, to keep them from being hurt? That snapped Viggo into action.

"Alright Harry, you have yourself a huge problem on your hands. The only thing you have to figure out is how to deal with it."

Again before Harry could reply, Viggo, Sean and Rudy, turned to walk out of the bar, Orli secure in Rudy's arms. Leaving behind them stunned silence. It took Harry only a couple of moments to follow them out, Grayson walking behind him.
