    Hi, my name is Colin Cates and I am 15 years old.  I am in 9th grade and I go to San Deguito Academy High School.  I was born in La Jolla, California and I have lived here all my life.  I have a mom, Jennifer, a dad, Brian, and a younger sister named Hannah.  I also have a Yellow Lab, named Duke.

    My hobbies are surfing, snowboarding, and playing the guitar.  I have been surfing all my life, and I go surfing almost every day.  I surf with my friends and my dad.  When I am not surfing, I like to play my guitar.  I have an acoustic guitar, and I have been playing for about 2 months.  I am just learning how to play, and I enjoy it very much.

    I like all kinds of music, from hard rock to classical rock.  I really like Jack Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Doors and The Rolling Stones.  I also like to listen to Metallica, AFI, Sublime, Audioslave, and Bob Marley.

My ultimate goal in life is to be a pro surfer.  That would be my dream job.  But after finishing school, I would like to go to college and major in some kind of photography course.  I would like to start a family and have a job where I can take a lot of time off, get paid well and travel the world.
