The year was 1992 (April 22,1992 to be exact) that I bought my first guitar and amp.
I was 16 years old.
I was heavy into listening to Metallica, Guns’n’Roses, and Nirvana to name a few,and some of my friends were already learning to play the guitar.
I was a little jealous I guess at the time. So I used the money I made from my first job as a stock boy for Kmart,
to buy my friends old Paul Dean guitar and ROSS 10w practise amp for about $200.
I took it home and began to learn from guitar tab magazines.
After 2 days I was playing the opening lead part to “Sweet Child ‘O’ Mine” and played till my fingers had serious blisters!
At this point, I was hooked!!

After a year of playing I started a little band with my friends and began to play Metallica songs (black album era)as well as some Slayer songs.
I was also heavy into Megadeth but only played along with the CD and not my band at the time.
At this point the year was 1994, and I began to try and write my own songs.
I was starting to get into the Metal genre even more and learning songs by such bands as:
Pantera, Sepultura, Death, as well as some alternative rocks songs that were being played on the radio.
After years of playing in a “fun band”, I was tired of just playing for fun, and wanted to get more serious with the band situation, so I left to focus more on my practising, and song writing.

The year is now 1998,and after years of song writing, and hard practising, I reformed the “fun band” in hope to get it to become a serious working band
- but my dream had’nt come just yet, little did I know I would become frustrated by every ones unrealistic goals regarding the bands direction.
We played a few live shows and that was it.

Its was now 2001, and I had just helped form a band called “One up Grunt” that was finaly what i was looking for
- It was my first serious band!
We all had the same realistic goals in mind, and nothing would stop us from achieving them.
After a 2 years of playing many ,many clubs in different parts of Ontario, Canada
we had gained quite a few contacts in the business that were starting to pay off, and started to gain a lot of attention in the underground scene in Toronto, Canada.
After a few lead singer changes, and problems within the band were starting to arise.
The band broke up in late 2002.
I was devastated.
Again pondering if music was the right direction for my career, I decided to focus on my playing even more than ever!
I refused to give up my love for playing and writing music. I bought a computer for the sole purpose of recording my music, and getting feedback from people in the business
- in hopes that I could get noticed on my own without a band behind me.
I soon found a place on the internet that hosts instrumental guitar based music, which I had not even considered doing previously.

My love for music had been reborn, and is now a major influence in my writing, and practising.
Now its 2003, and my goals have somewhat changed since when I first picked up the guitar.
I have been getting many positive feedback from my work - and continue to place high in Mp3.com charts.

- #2 in Canada’s Metal charts in December,2002*
- Currently #1 in Toronto’s Instrumental charts*
