Little Things

Its all of the little things
The ones that get you down
The ones that bring you up
The things that you don't want to think about
It's all the little things

She sighed as she took a look around. It wasn't the best day for her. She felt like everything was crashing down around her, everything piling up. She felt buried under everything that was going on. It was so frustrating to feel like she didn't have control of her life. Nothing seemed to be going the way that she wanted it. Life just wasn't fair, and it was proving that fact by kicking her when she was down.
With another sigh she buried her face in her hands. Her body leaned back on its own accord to straighten up against the cold bricks as she sat down on the floor. She had woken up mad that morning, something that didn't happen often, but was happening more and more lately. She had also been wishing that everyone would go away and leave her alone for a small amount of time, even if she knew that she didn't like to be totally alone.
She had made him mad, she knew it. While she would say it wasn't her fault, she still knew it was. It had been her choice to end it. It had been her choice to make that decision and then tell him, but she didn't regret it. She didn't regret stopping what had been going on. She hadn't been comfortable, and that was a good reason right there to end everything.
She had been nice about it, and really did want to be friends again, but she had the feeling that she was going to have to let him cool down for a couple of days before saying anything. It was a good thing that the show was ending soon, not because she didn't like doing what she did, but because she really needed some sleep. No matter how many times she tried to go to bed early she always ended up staying up late because of something or another.

Days pass without realization
People go about their reutines
Darkness falls and light comes up
No body realizes the dawn

She guessed that this would last a while. It was about time to just pick apart her personality just like she did to other people. She really had nothing against him, but it just hadn't worked out for her. She hoped that he would understand that, but she didn't know if he would. A small pang of guilt and sadness rested in her gut, but that was only because she might be losing a friend and because she had made him feel bad. That was one thing that she hated to do, make someone feel bad.
She sighed with frustration. There was nothing that she could do about the situation anyways. She had moved on, and if he wasn't going to accept it then it wasn't her fault. She had other things to worry about, her friend may be moving, another was on the edge of wanting to live, and various other little things. Oh, and her boyfriend. A guy that she liked more than anyone else. She wouldn't allow herself to feel love, wouldn't allow herself to get that close.

The little things that people disregard
Can accumulate forever
Leaving behind something more
Than what was just a forgotten treasure

He was managing to worm his way into her heart though. She didn't really know how he managed it, and didn't really care if she thought about it enough. But she still had her reservations, still had her fears that she could do nothing about. It almost felt like she was pulling at two ends of a rope in her mind, her heart against her brain. In the end her heart won like it usually did.
She didn't think that this would end badly. It was peaceful to her, it was happy, it was warmth. Those weren't things that she was going to give up lightly. Those were things that she didn't get much of. In the back of her mind she knew that it probably wouldn't last, but her heart still held onto its hope.
