A building of guilty pleasures, embraced in the corner of nowhere, and it’s purpose perverted. An abandoned gothic church, black brick walls falling and broken with holes casting shafts of light from the world outside of it, steeples topped with rusted iron crosses, their fastenings long-gone, and they face the heavens upside down. Once there was a bell in the highest tower of the church, however long ago it had fallen to the floor as its care was neglected along with the rest of the church’s. The floor broken in countless places, most noticeably where the bell lays half embedded within it.

The once beautiful, towering oaken doors are no more, replaced now with sheets of dirtied and torn white plastic nailed to the cracked and shattered door frame. Pews but broken and burnt planks, the rafters above in similar condition, the ceiling actually entirely collapsed at one point. Where the altar once stood proud, the floor is broken and pieces from it thrown about, though it is hard to tell one bit of wreckage from the next. But this particular wreckage stands out, for where the altar stood there is now a descending spiral staircase which seems to only be twenty or more years old. The condition of the staircase is poor, but when compared to the rest of the church, in far better shape.

Following the stairs into the cluttered and dark depths beneath the church, there is a dead end for the unknowing in the guise of a massive blast door, much akin to the entrances to fallout shelters of the past. The door, despite how plain in design and make, contains upon it an enchantment of mirrors, wherein any force exerted upon the door, either large or small, is returned in full to the source. But the doors are only the first step to what lies beyond.

Beyond the blast door lies a long hallway of re-enforced steel, lit only by one lone strobing crimson light. At the end of the hallway, a pair of heavy, re-enforced steel doors, containing an enchantment of mirrors much like the blast door. At eye-level there is an indented portion which can be slid aside for the entering to be inspected. And if those entering pass inspection, the heavy doors are opened by the turning of a vault-like lock, and The Underworld is laid bare before them.

The Underworld is a raving ground for those of the abnormal sect. The walls, floor, and ceiling are done in black tile, very easily washed. The entire area, roughly the size of a warehouse floor, is one massive dance floor. Speakers taller than most are within each corner and spread out and within the walls are other speakers of various sizes. There are even speakers within the ceiling, making the entire place capable of sending tremors throughout with very little volume necessary.

The lighting of The Underworld is done in strobing white and black lights, all except for a select few fixed within the ceiling. The few not within the ceiling are within the flooring and walls, creating a staggering and almost hypnotic effect to the un-accustomed. The flooring of The Underworld is done in multiple levels, the very center the lowest and steps leading out onto the more stable flooring, where more steps lead up to other heights. The Underworld, despite the rather small entrance, is easily the size of a warehouse in both height and area. Within the ceiling are multiple metal fixtures, shower-heads it would appear. What they pour, is not entirely known.

On the wall furthest from the entrance, there are four stainless steel elevators. Two of these lead down to the lower level of The Underworld, Upon All Fours. Another leads far below Upon All Fours, into The Lounge. The fourth leads up to the temporary dwellings during daylight hours.

The dwelling area can easily accommodate up to thirty to their own room, or sixty when using both beds of the rooms. The true limit is undetermined, as many have dwelled with up to a dozen or more within one room. But there are thirty rooms, each with two beds, and little light except for a crimson ceiling light. Each room also has a full bathroom, toilet, sink, and shower. All done in black marble. The carpeting of the dwellings done in black as well. Walls black. Black, of course, betrays little along the lines of the liquor of life.
