The Technology Coordinator's Site

Technology Coordinator: 1) The individual responsible for computers, associated peripherals, and communications networks. 2) The person responsible for creating and maintaining staff development programs with regards to technology. 3) The person responsible for developing and maintaining the district website. 4) The person responsible for implementing and supporting all forms of technology training within the curriculum. 5) The person responsible for budgeting for all the new technologies not yet invented, but necessary in the next school year. 6) The person responsible for all the paperwork on all the preceding responsibilities! 7) The person responsible for *.*

*.* is not cartoon cursing! While not used on the Macintosh computers many educators may be used to, the asterisk is used in DOS (Dreaded Operating System!) as a wildcard. In other words, anything and everything goes. For instance, when deleting all the Word files in a directory, one can simply ask the computer to delete *.doc. Or, to delete all the files, *.* would work. When working as the Technology Coordinator for a school district, it really seems like *.* is your responsibility!
