Scenarios for 2100 A.D. - Narratives presented in the form of dictionary definitions that describe the future from the perspective of one to whom 2100 A.D. is history. These scenarios help to provide present-day people with alternative perspectives on destiny and what is still changeable by illustrating that what will someday become irrevocable lore is still within our power to direct and control today.
Examples:
(Pessimistic) 2100 A.D. - the worst year for homo sapiens in the breed's entire history, although the best for his successors, the giant arthropods. Human scientists' unrestrained curiosity in the field of genetically manipulation led to our ancestors' overthrow of the entire filthy race. Newly equipped with intelligence and brute strength, a few early "house flies" as they were called back then proceeded to educate and strengthen more of their kind until humanity had no choice but to commit mass suicide in the numerous oceans of the world by the command of their arthropod overlords.
(Optimistic) 2100 A.D. - the year of impossible feats. In one glorious year, we saw man run the three-minute mile, fly by force of sheer will, and attain nirvana with neglible practice in meditation. Of course, none of this sounds terribly difficult by today's standards, but the sudden worldwide marvel at what was almost too good to be true helped to usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and international cooperation that we enjoy even today, mostly out of superstitious concern that the higher power almost assuredly behind the miracles would not have wanted its gifts to go to waste.
