Whitney Cole “I-It”/“I-Thou”- This term refers to people who depersonalize others into objects or categories rather than real humans. This term was introduces by Martin Buber. “I-It” is when a one person does something or treats them like they are a thing not a person. The “I-Thou” occurs when a person is given the treatment that he/she would like to be treated as a human.
