Hierarchy of Human Needs – a model of human needs, sometimes revised to a circle of human needs, grouping human needs into six categories, beginning from the bottom: Gaia (the state of feeling connected to the earth and all that is encompassed in it), Reptilian Brain (the state of submitting to your Id or animal instincts), Deficit (Basic survival needs: Food, Water, Air), Growth (obtaining self-esteem and support/connection with others), Self-Actualization (fulfilling your potential as a human being), and Self Transcendence (Moving past the needs of ego and those in ones circle to the needs and feelings of others more globally; The feeling of being connected with those around you mentally and emotionally). Note that when the needs are arranged in a circle the Gaia level and the Self-Transcendence level are adjacent to each other, being very similar and connected ideas.
