Laura D. Chandler
Five kinds of conflict: 1. Relationship - This is a personal conflict between two or more individual people, in which it is recognized that each person is a person (I-Thou) and not treated as a “thing.” 2. Structural - This is a more impersonal conflict (I-Thou) involving a conflict between goals of the parties involved. 3. Value - These conflicts are caused by differences in personal belief systems.
4. Data - This conflict arises from simple misinformation and misrepresentation.
5. Behavior - Behavior conflicts arise when the parties involved are acting in a manner that is producing conflict, although not necessarily intentionally.
